Way too much artillery fire!

Maybe it has been said before, but this game needs a timeout on artillery/mortar fire, half of my deaths is by dumb artillery fire when it’s not by a plane.
There’s a red circle somewhere at all time, it’s fun for the action once in a while but it gets annoying when it never stops.

It has been requested already, the “call art. strikes 8-x more often” perk is ridiculous, and will probably be removed sometime in the future. Even replacing it with “air strikes deal more damage” would make more sense to me - I am ok with dying to it sometimes, but that perk has to go for sure.

Even reducing the arty strike to 4x would be better.
It is useful to clear points or just reduce their effectiveness, but every 30 seconds is a little too much.

Agreed, there needs to be a global cooldown for a team after someone calls in an arty strike.

Please note; I don’t mean the 3 minute cool down for the individual. I mean there needs to be a 3 minute cool down for the team after an arty gets called in, or something.

It’s absurd to have arty stacked on a control point by one or both teams for 5 consecutive minutes, yet it happens more and more often as people level their squads.

if the cooldown work as u say,then artillery will be useless,imagine a harmless little red circle showing on the map, no one will step inside ,even ai.

I would think there should be a GCD for clicking in the same area as the last arty so it’s not spam one point with 2 team members. (me and 3 buddies made B/A constant artillery zone, we stayed in spawn and won the game.)

Then make it drop more rounds inside it or something?
I mean really, you would prefer non-stop artillery barrages that make capturing a point literally impossible over trying to figure out something better?

Also nobody willingly steps inside an artillery barrage, so your argument doesn’t even make sense.

This would also make sense but might be harder to implement. Not really sure.
Would at least force people to spread the artillery out, which is good.

AI wont go inside either, so you will have to to deal with your AI being no where close to the point and run into 10-20 guys alone. I think it would be easy have ally artillery show up as a blue circle on the mini map and stay on the mini map for maybe 1 minutes.

No nerf … the 30 second timer on arty is fine … don’t confuse arty with mortars that can fire non stop from spawn protection.

The quick nerf is not the right way to do it … there are ways to balance arty and mortars to make both classes more fun to play

why there is even circle? do u see circle in map when you get bombed? but artillery needs some nerf

It should be a noticeable sound, just like before, hearing the whistles of death right before getting hit while everyone rushes for cover.

Nobody has the 30 second cool down in Berlin, unless I missed something.

If the artillery squad is removed and its made more of a “killstreak reward”, or just something that they give you for playing well then it will probably feel a lot better.
At the moment its basically, Bring radioman → press button → wait. Its not really very engaging or fun.

I just commented elsewhere that I was in a game today where a capture point was under artillery fire for the whole game : /

It needs to be made a less frequent option in my opinion.

The timer for arty is fine but they need to remove the unlimited ammo and slow the rate of fire on mortars. Make both classes spot their targets in order to fire. This keeps them moving and engaged in the battle. Also more realistic as to how those classes were actually used in battle

The quick nerf bat or doing away with them all together, is not the optimal solution.

Too much explosion all the time… Artillery almost 100% uptime + planes dropping bombs in between. Its never safe to move, but that is fine. Problem comes with constant sound of explosions, it really gets annoying after playing longer period of times. At one point I just had to mute SFX volume completely. I would love to see some sort of global cooldown so you cant stack / chain artillery.
