War Crime Flag

In the 1920s, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party adopted a tilted, hooked version of the symbol, which they called the Hakenkreuz (“hooked cross”). They infused it with their ideology of racial purity and “Aryan” supremacy, making it the central symbol of Nazism. The symbol was used extensively in Nazi propaganda and became the national flag of Germany in 1935.

During Japan’s imperial expansion and World War II, the flag was prominently used by the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy. For many people in countries that were victims of Japanese aggression, such as Korea, China, and the Philippines, the flag is a painful reminder of Japan’s past militarism, imperialism, and war crimes.

Someone been injured. Some German says:

In my opinion censorship is dumb, give us an uncensored WW2 German flag  (for those who can’t tell, this is a joke, however I still find censoring history to be dumb).

Dunno sounds more like a Russian thing to say.

It shouldn’t be a joke.

I find players asking censorship of those to be exceptionally hypocritical, or just rather dumb.

I explain with simple comparisons:

  • If you want play a horror/violent game, will you go complaining about… the horror and the violence in it?
    No. Because it’s expected.

  • If you play a crime game, like grand theft auto, will you go complain it’s violent and lawless? No, expected.

Now then. Why are there doofuses complaining about ww2 things, in a ww2 game? Which is a war game, by the way. War is absolutely horrific in nature. So being… offended?!? By this?

What did you expect, chum? A rainbow flag with soldiers fighting with the power of friendship?

I mean me personally I wouldn’t argue if we have the correct German flag for WW2 in WW2 games, hell, I support it, history should never be censored, but people are just too sensitive these days.

replace japan with any of the participants in ww2 and this would be true. britain, france, US, soviets, china all had crimes during their history that some other countries were victim to. does it mean that we need to ban all their flags in all mediums?

It’s a good thing that computer games have nothing to do with history.

It’s always funny to read how people don’t care whether a game is single-player or online.

Actually this game does have something to do with history, it’s a WW2 game.

We need a Canadian goose flag here I suppose. Of course it’s hard to understand for somebody like you - some people suffer losses in their families.

Should we censor the soviet flag?

Of course it’s hard to understand for someone like you. Some people suffer losses in their families.

Again so your slower cognition might get it:
a ww2, war game. In it, it’s expected to portray ww2, and war things, which are de facto horrible.

If the content of a war game is too sensitive, the customer is free to simply, not play a war game.

If japan and german flags need to be censored the why do soviets get their uncensored flag? Soviets also commited brutal atrocities
