adding voice chat and the major pros and cons of the idea. (sorry if I missed any)
pros:
1.more realism to the battlefield and functionality.
this game already feels real enough, but by adding voice chat would just put the icing on the cake. it would allow players to communicate in a fast pace manner through voice like in other games like the call of duty series, battlefield, etc. another idea I had that I think would be interesting to play around with this, is to make the voice chat proximity based and anyone can hear it, just to add a tad bit more realism to it. this could also potentially add a new mechanics like a radio you have to equip to avoid potentially the enemy team overhearing you. and on that you maybe also add another soldier whose sole purpose to hack communications and overhear the enemy teams radio, for limited period of time and to block incoming hacks. I believe the potential for this could be big if done with care.
- team coordination
team coordination would be improved significantly. being able to focus on the game and strategize at the same time, something that wouldn’t be so easy to accomplish through text. adding this could make the game seem more organized in the method of defending or attacking.
cons:
- harassment
this would open up the potentiality for players to harass other players. but I believe a good solution for this would to be able to mute each player individually or add an option to to turn voice chat off entirely.
thanks for taking time out of your day to read this, I didn’t want to make it to long but I still wanted to mention and cover the major key points on how I thought it would affect gameplay and the pros and cons of it. I probably missed some crucial ones, and I’m sorry for that in overall I think this would be a fun and interesting idea to experiment and perfect to make a great addition to the game.
