Victory Rate MM

We could totally do victory rate based matchmaking. It’d most likely put stacks v stacks as well.
As a sidenote, we could poll people every so often or pull data on who’s the most popular nations and give incentive to play the underpopulated ones. Thought the bonus for join any team coming soon will work just as well if not better.

Short Answer: No … no we should not

Reasoning:

A): you can currently leave a game and not take a loss … so its “fudgeable” … this can however be fixed
B): all this will do is eventually move everyone to 50% win rate over time … making the system pointless.
C): this system is either too abusable (depending on how its implemented) with parties using different winrates within them or has the SBMM problem where if you play with people of different skill levels within your party, it makes either the better player have too easy of a time or the worse player too hard a time.

Join any team bonus should be coming soon and that should help the side stacking issue. Having all 4 factions represented in main events AND returning to Event Squad Claim tickets should help some more. I don’t think the side stacking issue will ever go away until 1 of 2 things occur:

  • 1: The game gets enough of a playerbase where sides stop being “empty” at times
  • 2: We lose the ability to choose the side we are playing as/and or we no longer are faction v faction.

I would like to see a solo only queue eventually, however due to our lower player base size, we can already “queue snipe” people and get into same lobbies with relative ease/reliability using a countdown on comms. Hopefully we do eventually get a stack v stack softrule soon.

Pretty nice on paper, but shit on implementing it:

  • Victory rate matchmaking is worse If pro or veteran always moves to battle against other pro or veteran because the noob player base will not understand how this game works even. Enlisted isn’t just random shooter where you run into people and die. Its a game where you, your AI, and teammates work together to complete objectives and win. It holds many strategies like flanking, vehicles, and learn to utilize proper tactics.

  • There is no loss if teammates desert the match as its taken over by AI squads which isn’t a issue.

  • This system can be abusable if the veteran or pro decides to lose many matches in the worst fraction like Japan and maybe Germany just to lower the rate. When he joins low victory rates matches, thats when veterans and pro steamroll the enemy fraction easily because they are noobs.

  • Again, this game is not war thunder as war thunder is more competitive than this game is. This game is good for casuals as you can kill, die, and respawn. So just enjoy the game whether you win or lose because you are rewarded for not being good player. But also its heavily dependent on supporting other people in your team, which means K/D don’t really matter. You can fly plane or drive tank and get over 100 kills while not doing the object is same as helping others and doing the objective.

it is even worse than that. you would just get victory farmers in one faction getting e.g. 80+% WR and casuals in other with 20% WR. MM would either match against bots or against higher rated players in opposing team i.e. 20% WR players.

what you want is elo rating, but for that to function properly you would need to remove faction vs faction mechanic. so every MM idea has its pros and cons.
