Having aquired my first 5 star (non premium) soldier, How does one set about making them into a veteran to earn the Veteran perks that are mentioned in the upgrade tree?
I’ve looked but can’t seem to see anything on the matter.
Veterancy isnt actually implemented and doesnt do anything.

I was told it just raises the percentage of certain perks but I’ve yet to get it.

I bought the Soviet pack but it doesn’t do anything. Sure you get machine guns, except not for all of your squads, but the AI are just as useless. I’m wondering if there is actually a stage when they start helping. Hopefully more updates will address these things.
The tech trees has so many useless or placeholder spots that can cause you confused.
The red one’s veteran role. The yellow one’s gun tweaks. and etc.
Yes I find it quite confusing. For instance, I have 3 spare places for soldiers, but I can’t put anyone in them. 4 Veterans, 3 spare places. No idea why.
They are limited by soldier class.
The best one for pointless tech tree things is the 1 extra trooper slot for the rifle squad… like the squad increase lets you have an extra trooper as default xD
I think that’s placeholder for rn or they cocked something up in the interim
I think the squad is locked and it is cosmetic, something they haven’t removed from the purchase package. I don’t know. There are several things I don’t understand. I usually look to YouTube for explanations.
The elite squad can only take assaulters.
If you look just above the soldiers in the squad you’ll see the symbols of the types allowed, and numbers allowed and actually present - eg this squad can have up to 7 total, made up of any combination of up to 7 riflemen (troopers) , 2 engineers and 1 assaulter. It currently has 4 riflemen, 2 engineers and 1 assaulter.
Thank you. I’ll try this later. Much appreciated. OK so I’ve managed to get some more squad members in, but the game says they aren’t ready for battle. As everything is maxed out in the squad I’m again unsure of the next step.
