Vehicles currently, like everything, have a set pattern of 3 upgrades that change a fixed set of stats by a set amount.
I have only upgraded one airplane and two tanks thus far - and not just for financial reasons.
It just never felt like I really need “+7% Zero lift stabilizer drag coefficient”.
And I think that in general, be it braking force or radiator efficiency, these upgrades don’t provide much value to anyone in any case. Certainly not enough to justify their ludicrous silver cost.
I propose a new point-based system where you can invest points you earn into the exact stat you want.
This system would open up a new route for progression, as well as a new point economy that can provide further incentives to subscribe to premium. It also better rewards long-term play of specific squads - that are currently maxed out relatively quickly if they’re low BR.
Lastly, earning points instead of just spending silver is a good means of balancing out the highly criticized silver economy.
It depends on the plane. Some of them you CAN tell a big difference with. For me this rings especially true with the large bomber planes (Sb-2m, JU-188, and A-20-G). It definitely makes a difference when you use glide bombing methods rather than dive-bombing.
I don’t use fighters much but one of my buddies does, and he has always said he can feel the difference.
It COULD be a good way of balancing it out, but I would need to see the suggested points changes before I could agree to it.
I would assume so, as in, the options you can invest into will mostly be the same ones we have now.
But like guardianreaper said, not all of them are entirely without impact. It’s just that many of them have no impact for specific playstyles (you do not, for example, need engine power if you glide for bombing like guardianreaper does) and being able to choose between them instead of receiving a generalist package would be a major improvement already. And it’d be worth the grind, also because I get to spend my silver elsewhere.
