I just played a match and scored six tank kills with the M24 without taking a scratch from enemy tanks. This may not be much for a tank vet, but since I rarely play tanks, it was a new milestone for me.
To be honest, I don’t remember buying this tank as it is Premium and I never buy tanks, so I assume it came in a bundle I purchased at some point. I don’t know if anyone else uses it, but I like it. Thin armor, but fast which allowed me to get shots off and manuever before enemy tanks could shoot back. I imagine with the thin armor I would be dead meat if an enemy tanks see’s me first and gets an accurate shot off.
Maybe I’ll have to play more with tanks, playing with tanks is far less bot frustrating since they are contained in the tank and don’t run amuck disobeying orders seeking death like infantry bots.
It’s relatively tough I assume that’s due to its sloped armor; it’s somewhat difficult to destroy from the front using short 75mm guns. If I’m not mistaken, it was part of a bundle called “Fire Ranger” or something like that i don’t remember XD.
I’m sure it would have had to be in a bundle since I have never bought a tank, and I don’t think it was ever in the mystery box, which I have won several tanks. I most likely bought that Fire Ranger bundle.
M24 is one of the best br 2 tanks overall. The solid shot can be annoying and i personally dislike the high magnification gunner optic but other than that, it is a great combination of speed, reliable armour and powerful cannon
Tis good it’s firmly in my BR3 lineup, the armor isn’t very thick and you feel it at times. The upside is the good power to weight making it relatively fast like the Scott and the Hellcat. It helps because it can keep a game rolling if a point is well defended. Another thing I like about the Chaffee (Scott and Hellcat too) is that unlike the Churchill which moves at a glacial pace I need not bother repair it because if I’m hit I’m probably dead.
Yes, this tank is already the best American vehicle at BR 2.
Compared with other tech‑tree tanks: others carry the 75 mm gun but are open‑topped, or suffer very slow turret rotation. Some, like the M3 Lee, do not even have a proper turret.
Turreted light tanks with decent mobility only get smaller‑calibre guns, similar to the Crusader.
The M24 is nearly perfect.
Even if the commander is killed, the gunner can switch optics and use the commander’s close‑range sight.
Its only current shortcoming is the lack of M61 HEAT rounds.
This vehicle originally came in the same bundle as the Hell Diver. I bought that bundle mainly to get the now‑unobtainable United Defense squad
I get bored playing tanks, so I won’t buy a bundle if I have everything and only the tank is left. Really, I hardly ever see anything to buy when it comes to bundles since I have most every squad, just not the tanks.
I certainly find APCs interesting mostly because they are just another infantry squad and they’re really good for low BRs, even though the German APC is a real pain to drive and hard to conceal. I used to use my early Japanese tanks as a sort of “personal APC,” too, since they functioned more like an assault squad than anything else mainly because those early Japanese tanks were so poor. That said, I really cut my teeth on the Panzer IV; I didn’t unlock the Tiger II until last year, but now I hardly ever use it because I prefer playing infantry in Tunisia (BR2) or custom matches.
It is quick attack tank, especially lower BR’s. You can run up on a cap quickly but I can kill them easily with hand held AT weapons. Dont try it in 4 or 5
i use this tank is my br3 lineup as a HE slinger lol. Sometimes i get lucky and the enemy shells just rips right through the turret killing only 1 person giving me time to retreat.
ive managed to kill 1 panther with it because they decided to sit right next to the objective so it gave me enough time to rush in and shoot into their sides lol
