I have a different kind of problem: since the update my game won’t even start anymore.
Yesterday it was working fine, after installing the update I now get an error saying “unable to open path or file” for D:\Games\Enlisted\win64\enlisted.exe. I changed nothing else on my PC since last playing and so far, I’ve set the enlisted.exe und the launcher to run as administrator, ran the Install_BattlEye.bat in the BattlEye folder, disabled my antivirus and checked the files via the launcher (twice), but I still get the same error.
Does anyone have any other ideas how to fix this? Or is this a known/already reported problem?
You missunderstood this point.
I was intending to disprove the notion that gameplay benefits is the sole criteria on whether someone’s purchase ‘counts’ or not - that only gameplay effects matter for cosmetics, when that is of course not the case. People can spend the exact amount of currency on camo pants as they do body armour, most of the time simply because they found a perticular combination of options appealing, and that ‘benefit’ can be removed and/or significantly altered at an apparent whim with no refunds in sight.
Cosmetics have been removed in the past - there used to be a Soviet winter coat available, but it was removed out of a fear that it looked too much like some German uniforms. No one is of course saying that the body armour cosmetic options themselves should be removed, rather their nonsensical benefit, but it is wrong to say that there is zero precedent for doing something like this - there is pleanty.
But if we are going to talk about the META and balance, then the situation does not improve.
Things that become overused can often expect a nerf-hammer to strike, so too are privaliges unearned or disproportionally helping a certain minority of players. Lets face it, the Soviets have no apparent tech tree weaknesses to excuse this crutch. Especially not the veteran players who can afford to equip all their squads in Stalinium.
For the sake of gameplay, the bonus must be removed - because it really is an unfair advantage, and balancing weaponry around Soviet body armour but also against everyone else at the same time is a balance nightmare. Any buff on Axis or Japanese weaponry to counter this bonus must be fair too against Soviet players who don’t use or can’t afford body armour, but also against the entire other faction of the Allies.
For stylistic reasons, the bonus must be removed - because it just ruins every single battle against the Soviets, because you’re constantly fighting turtles everywhere you go, it is especially irksome when even the enemy mortar squads have body armour! So many people using and being incentivised to use body armour flattens the visual width and identity of the entire faction - the incentive to use such cosmetics must therefor be removed.
One aspect that is not talked about enough is how unfair body armour is to honest players.
I have customized many Soviet squads and yet I can count on one hand how many squads I equipped with body armour. Players like me who customize their squads based on historical authenticity and personal taste are in a disadvantage compared to people who exploit the damage reduction, despite having paid the same amount of customization orders or gold.
Besides, body armour was first introduced in the closed Beta of the battle of Berlin when game mechanics and balancing used to be significantly different.
Back then there was no customization or downed state and in the campaign the weapons affected back then were really only pistol calibre weapons (which was claimed even in 2023 by staff member when it was no longer true…). Simply put: there was no way to abuse it back then, unlike now.
Last time I checked, exploiting game mechanics to gain unfair advantages results in a ban, so I would really like to know why does exploiters “deserve” refunds or get defended?
Hey gaijin will the INFANTRY part of the game gets more weapons than like two maybe in every update?
Gaijin:…
Will we get more urbanized maps that isn’t some lazy open fields with two bushes that actually doesn’t stop bullets?
Gaijin:…
Will we?
Gaijin: do you want a “Tank Destroyer” which will totally be used only on tanks… don’t question why we put 200 rounds of HE in it, it’s totally what the player base need right now than “infantry” or “urban maps”.
I dunno, maybe continue hijacking every news post and even random unrelated suggestion and something will happen about it… just saying… it’s really getting old.
It’s almost as if it’s still a topic people are very passionate about that hasn’t been addressed. This thread is just about the first time the CMs have even said anything about it despite the many threads that specifically talked about it.
If the cause is just, and honourable…
It has been… ‘talked about’ before. Wishy-washy stuff, mostly, nothing firm. The devs are obviously hesitant, but they are perfectly aware of the public mood on the subject… and they probably even recognize the points too.
It is very much on the table - and as long as it is on the table, it will be argued for, until such a time that a descion has been reached and rendered. Until that time, it is our obligation to keep the topic alive and not let it go silently into the night.

Ah yes, the bull about “avoiding knew jerk reactions”.
i use body armor in all my soviet squads for all the fronts. i must have bought all along like 100 or 150 of those things.it is obviously a statistical advantage and no “hehe its just 10% deal with it” can change that fact. it is a clear mathematical increase in base stats.
what i cant really grasp, and perhaps someone could explain it to me, why when that almost the entirety of firefights, mine at least with whoever i come across, are NOT in the perfect weapon range. its NOT “2 hits to torso, 3 hits to blabla”. for ex., the X smg needs to be at 10mts or lower to be in max dmg range. how many times you shoot the thing at exactly 10 meters or below, compared to 30-40 meters popshotting? damage is by default almost always lower than the max value. thats why it is the MAX value, after all. so no, body armor doesnt increase by x hits this weapon or y hits that other weapon. it just increase the hits needed and thats it, more or less it doesnt matter when it increase by default. any amount above 0 reduction its an automatic advantage.
that said, i couldnt care less if they remove the 10%. fair is fair. but i would ask for a refund of the xpenditure because, you see, those armors dont grow on trees, you have to buy them. its of common sense to refund the value spent if you change the item, isnt it? at least a consolation prize for loosing that advantage.
remember, someone posted the statistics, and even WITH the body armor, the ussr faction has below 50% win rate across all BRs…just give it some thought.
It literally does though. Take the MP40 against someone at 200 meters with vitality. Normally you need 3.86 so 4 shots at 3.5 damage to down someone with 13.5 hp. Now with body armour you need to hit them 4.29 so 5 times at 3.15 damage to down them. It literally does increase the hits needed by X or Y.
So do the allies but they don’t get a 10% damage reduction.
i mean, the literal “you need +1 hits with this gun, and +2 with this other” as people cite it as a fixed number, i just cant see it as a fixed +x, it varies wildly between guns and ranges. oviously it increases the hits, therefore why i think it is an advantage and couldnt care if it is removed: fair is fair. i just ask for those tickets back!
precisely! ussr have body armor and STILL is below 50, how low could it go if you remove the 10% crutch? how low??? DOES NOBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN???
And when do the US get their body armour to offset skill issue?
immediately, as soon as possible, SOON™! i seen some pictures of ww2 USA flak armor that could fit pretty well, better than the ninja turtle cosplay id say. not sure about the japanese samurai stuff, tho, think ill pass on that one.
Flak Vests can’t even stop high velocity pistol rounds let alone anything else. Giving them a 10% damage reduction would be even more nonsensical than body armour is already.
i must confess i dont get your point. i agree with removing the damage reduction, as said above. but i am aware enough to recognize that the ussr player faction need that crutch, if not for anything else, for balance purposes. if EVEN WITH 10% damage reduction, it STILL have below 50% win rate across ALL BRS, then…how you counter balance removing the crutch? im sure you can see the obvious problem. soviets would become the bot faction, and even worst than with campaigns: its across all BRS, ffs.
Lowkey…I love how everyone always talk about the soviet body armor for gaijin not to do nothing LMAO.
man, they need some time to evaluate, we dont want knee jerk reactions after all! give them a couple years to come with a solution, remember the 2 years bipods fix? the ppsh41 2+years dispersion fix? focke wulf planes flight model fix, still in evaluation, from day 0? the recurrent bots using the handgun as default? no knee jerk reactions allowed!
