So would you be so kind and enlighten us as to what those special features are supposed to be for each faction?
I assume one could argue that impact grenades were supposed to be such a thing but somehow they are free game for nerfes while body armor is not? So what is the reasoning behind that?
Why is one faction feature free game (and nerfed to the ground) while the othere is beeing continuesly protected from any proposed changes for no clear reason?
Since when do the devs offer refunds because of changed they did do? Even in the past they NEVER issued gold or money in return as compensation.
But since we are apparently entiteled to refunds now according to you. Were are my refunds for every time a premium/BP item I owned was changed?
Given the amount of stuff that i own that was changed I would be entitled to a small foutune by now. Yet for some reason the gold never came.
So unless you intend of paying out all those refunds in a timely manner I call bullshit on that reasoning.
Exept the game is already beeing balanced without body armor in mind. Most of the 2 shot capable SMG for the axis have a significaltly slower ROF than the counterparts that 3 shot kill SMG from the soviets. But with the body armor ALL the 2 shot SMG are turned into 3 shot (but the ROF isnt adjusted obviously) so the balanceing should instead be improving.
Considering the amount of time this has been pointed out by previous users like dregomz and greyparrot but these we’re never Heard it looks like devs don’t wanna hear anything abt that Guess that developers just wanna do the things their way without hearing logical feedback while putting some money excuses to not do it
Sounds accurate.

Btw the bipod on the Johnson LMG is also dynamic
So if you prone it’s deployed, folded when crouching and standing
Nice, I hope more weapon will be given such features (looking at you FG42).
For real?! Ah, this is so nice, I hope to see this implemented on all the weapons they can, it would be so good aesthetically, thanks for the changes!
You mean just like the long requested folding bayonet (and it’s bonuses) right?
(Gaijin)

… you mean the bayonet… right?
(Gaijin)

“Might I interested you in Soviets armour instead?”
The movement bugs caused by the preceding update were not fixed? Neat. Why not remove the .exe from the install and insist players didn’t get impaired by that either? ![]()
How many more years must pass before it is adopted? The problem of body armor has been written about for years.
What? What’s also messing up other factions’ time-to-kill and balance?
Firstly, the body armor costs the same amount of gold (120) as any other torso customization item. This means no one overpaid for the -10% buff. Therefore, it can and should be removed. The armor itself will remain with the players who purchased it.
Secondly, I could buy impact grenades, phosphorus grenades, rifle grenade launchers, flamethrowers, and other weapons for gold, which the developers turned into junk. When will I be compensated for this?
No nerf will be strong enough to offset their advantages.
So that the game completely turns into a clown show, where instead of real uniforms, everyone runs around in armor?
Major, there’s no need to reinvent the wheel. Just remove the body armor protection in the next update.
It’s not as if the entire reason you purchase it isn’t the armor it provides… likewise with helmets and their headshot reduction.
Except the reduction you bought it for.
Yeah… things like the officer cap… which doesn’t make sense to have it in the first place -_-
And pants getting a retexture? Really? Do you seriously think these are valid points to bring up regarding this topic? I mean i’m not one to say that but cmon.
Body armour, as it currently functions in-game, doesn’t make any sense either.
One piece of clothing, that does nothing to hamper the soldier, suddenly make him able to survive shots from rifles - and said protection somehow applies to the whole body as well, not just the troso, not even just the parts of the body covered by the plate.
Even most pistol-calibre weapons shouldn’t even be impacted, if the engagement takes place at short distances (not exactly a uncommon situation for a SMG to be used in).
Some people have the silly idea that cosmetics should be… well, cosmetic. A shocker for you, perhaps, but not everyone cares about min-maxing and equiping all their reds in Stalinium harnesses. If you want gear with actual battlefield effects, then you should have to make use of the exact same equipment slots everyone else is limited to in-game - rather than relying on this lame crutch.
People make purchases to dress up their pixel soldiers, with either hard-earned or literally paid-for currency, only for the devs to make a unrequested change somewhere which completely ruins the outfits you’ve invested in. This happens to way more things than just pants… currently some of my Germans in Normandy and Berlin no longer have matching green pants and torso pieces since last major update, just as an example.
Those people have yet to be compensated, and I doubt they ever will be.

Son…
Move body armor to backpack slot
it’s so ugly I’m hoping to never see it again just purely from an aesthetic standpoint, and this should help lol.
I’ve proposed this in the past - I’d give it some tweaks first, but that’s the gist of it.
Cosmetic body armour can remain (similar to how there are cosmetic and real backpacks), but if someone wants it with effects then it should in a backpack slot. Historically defensible, too - Soviet assault troops with body armour relied often rellied on a collegue to carry their spare magazines, making it so that our troops will have to decide between a ammo pouch or body armour would feed right into this.
Yeah, i think it’s the best solution. Personally I don’t even much care about the functional effect of damage reduction. I don’t play meta or care about the “best” weapon if it’s not something i enjoy using, so I’m already at more than 10% damage disadvantage anyway probably. I’m just tired of the lack of variety because so many people wear it, and it looks dumb.
Honestly I’d be more than happy to ditch helmet armor as well, as i find myself always going for helmets because why wouldn’t you, even if i like the look of something else better, and I wish there wasn’t an incentive to always go with helmets.
The Japanese used body armor regularly in China; the Germans could have the Italian “Samurai vest,” which was designed to hold submachine gun magazines arranged in several horizontal rows across the torso (I recall seeing someone test whether bullets would explode upon hitting a loaded magazine though they were using modern plastic or polymer ones, the bullet didn’t actually penetrate the magazine). These could, for example, provide a 5% reduction in frontal damage and perhaps a boost to available ammo without needing a special backpack; it would be either that or a 10% reduction in frontal damage. As for your point about World War I, it’s not unfeasible after all, during the desperate final stages of the Battle of Berlin, they used whatever they could get their hands on. It wouldn’t surprise me to see old WWI-era metal plates used in this way.
Does that mean a possible rebalancing in some of the TT weapons? The 8mm Nambu weapons are particularly inefficient against body armor; the japanese LMGs have too much recoil to be used as improvised assault rifles or lack sufficient damage, and the semi-automatics suffer from the same issues high recoil and inaccuracy in exchange for decent damage.
Yes, it is understandable that people have frustrations over this for the damage reduction it has and combined with having no downsides… i will agree with some that instead of removing it they should add penalties for using it like movement speed or restricting your pouch slot.
I am well aware of that… you don’t need to add some sarcastic emphasis when explaining that to me either… opinions often conflict and with controversial topic like this that’s going to happen.
If you don’t care about min maxing it shouldnt concern you when others do… every multiplayer game will have optimal strategies etc… not using body armor is only limiting you from taking advantage of the benefit… its not like the enemy has it… now could this be used as a reason why it shouldn’t be added to all nations? Yeah.
I can understand that belief.
