To be fair, @Bigote0070, they have disabled sound mods on War Thunder too, for the same exact reason.
This just made me feel more positive about them actually fixing the sound mod system issues once and for all

I tried equipping the event squad on the normal squad slot, but why though? even though its an event squad why was there a restriction like this?

This is because your normal squad(s) got pushed down to the premium/event slot when you reorder it…

Old bank modded files with missing sounds somehow break the game in other ways?
Apparently that is the reason.
You can have incorrectly mapped sounds for starters, and somehow that can crash your game if some kind of weird buffer stuff happens
The game is now crashing for no reason and I can’t even play it anymore. I have a bunch of boost cards in my inventory, so I suggest extending the validity period of these cards for a few more days until the developers fix the game so I can play again

My laptop has an RTX 4060 Mobile. At 2.5K resolution with medium settings and DLSS enabled, my frame rate used to stay a stable 165 FPS. After this latest update, it only fluctuates between 130–140FPS, accompanied by random stutters and even freezes that last 1 to 10 seconds, making the game completely unplayable. Please extend the duration of the bonus cards by a few more days until the developers fully fix the issues. I pulled a lot of items from loot boxes that I still haven’t used because I can’t even play the game properly.
That really affects your mood so much. Just imagine being in a plane flying through the sky and suddenly crashing and freezing for 10 seconds - by the time it gets back online, your plane has already exploded on the ground

Maybe the game crash is the player’s problem and they should leave the choice to that player - does that player want to use mods that crash that player’s game?

I have been using my sound mods just fine since the update, I have had a few crashes, but that is normal as I am playing on a shitty laptop
Once again, you can just replace the vanilla sound files
