All Is2 variants in game just SUCK. 1 hit from anywhere and your dead, up in flames. If the reload was not so bad, i could live with that. But what is the point in bringing one out knowing you can 1 hit die to pretty much anything a panther and above, when you can take a t-34 with a far faster reload

not unpopular and all that can really be said is cope or use T-34, the IS-2 performs better then it already does IRL(the reload being a damn minute+ long IRL!)
the IS-2 1944 is pretty much the best you’re going to be getting unless the devs dip deep into prototype or ahistorical tanks

It’s just the damn thing is so big it’s hard to navigate some area on berlin maps. KT has luxury of only having 1 or 2 week points they can cover up while moving. IS2? Better be the first to see Enemy tanks or you’re dead.
Just thought a heavy tank like that would have some sort of protection. But Nope.

I mean the fact that it use the 2 piece loading 122mm vs single shell load 100mm already tells you the gun loading is slow

More justifiable to bring both T-34-85 and IS-2 on the lineup like War Thunder with the addition of the Tiger II(H). Sure T-34-85 can hit the side turret or side hull of the Tiger II but the problem is the maps don’t allow flanking in a tank especially the ones came from the armored train map with the map being so narrow.

The anti-tank performance of the APHE shell is unpredictable though. You’ll have with depressing frequency cases where even a fucking pz iv just eats those shells.
Not really, since before the update T-34-85 could kill Tiger II P, but now - it cannot kill Tiger II H (from the front).
So - there is no alternative than use IS-2 or pay for SU-100.
i face IS2 all the times, and they all struggle to pen tigers.
i don’t think it’s normal.
there’s something wrong with the shell, or the damage models.

It is normal because it really struggled with penetrating the Tiger.
The only reliable way of the 122mm to frontally knock out a Königstiger is the huge shell causing splinters from the impact which hopefully kills or injures the crew.
