As much as I hate seeing A13 in the Pacific and Seagull water plane in Tunisia, and as much as I want Tunisia to have more purely Italian squads with Italian gear and uniforms and stuff, I think this should be made by map links, but not making Italy and UK separate factions.
The main reason is because DF will go full fantasy mode and add all kinds of wooden mockups and prototypes and concept tanks and weapons to fill British and Italian BR IV-V.
I do want to see more British and Italian battles but not at the cost of secret SuperTanko mod. 1945.
Agree, Italy and UK would be unpopular factions bacause most players wouldn’t bother to grind everything again, buy more squad slot ect.
The real question is the prestige here and the ability to play solely with the faction.
Currently the biggest dominating factor in favour of seperating the factions is the under representation of both Italy and UK which is unfair, they should be equal partners in their respective factions not just 2 or 3 squads a bunch of weapons.
The real solution would be giving Italy and UK the ability to buy squads so you can have Italian assaulter/sniper/flamethrower squads.
Possibility to buy Italian/British soldiers.
Rename Germany to European Axis or just Axis.
Rename US to Western Allies or just Allies.
Possibility to que only for maps/campaigns in which the respective faction is in.
Italy has enough SMG in tree to have its seperate SMG line inside the Axis tech tree.
Then how do you envision future development of this game? Different locations and theaters of war don’t drive sales now that you don’t have to unlock the same guns for each set of maps. Tiny additions of minor forces associated with each new “campaign” won’t be sufficient in the long run as well.
I think we’re destinied (doomed?) to eventually have them separated and perhaps we’re also destined to go “full fantasy mode”. Either that or the game will stagnate and wither away. If you ask me, however, it’s more likely that we’ll go beyond WW2 instead of getting some weird prototypes.
If we ever were to run out of ww2 content which can’t happen in the foreseeable future.
Than sure, other conflicts are welcome as well, as long as they don’t mesh things up like Maus fighting T-90 in Afghanistan or some other joke.
Equipment, must be hardlock to their respective conflicts.
