Undo the KV-1 buff

In the recent update, the KV-1’s armor profile has been buffed to where it is now completely immune to infantry outside AT launchers. The turret roof and hull roof now have armor values that are the same as the turret side and hull side respectively.

This change makes no sense historically or compared to War Thunder, and I can only assume it’s a bug. But whatever the reason it happened it should he undone immediately.

At least the BR3 KV-1 should not have this, there’s an argument to keep it on the BR4 variant. The KV-2 also doesn’t have it which is good.

Nah, this has to be a mistake.

No tank has roof armor as thick as frontal armor.

This bug will be fixed soon.
But in any case, it’s necessary to increase the penetration of explosive packages to 80+.

Why? to compensate for the kv1 having 75+ all around armor? Makes the enemy actually think how to kill you… last stands with the KV1 while enemies brainlessly throw packs at you is so fun.

Is it normal that the KV is literally invulnerable to explosive charges? And even throwing it on a roof doesn’t guarantee its destruction. What if I’m unlucky with my team, and I’m dealing with rookies without grenade launchers, am I supposed to do all the dirty work? Then give me a Panzerfaust 60 in each slot of my soldiers instead of an explosive charge.

if you can kill KT with explosive pack to the track(track armor+hull armor is >35mm that explosive pack penetrates), then KV should also be easily killable with explosive pack.

I’m not commenting on the post… but to giving explosive picks 80mm+ pen… which to note i’m not opposed to.

??? You’re exploiting its low armor above the tracks with KT… KV has 75+ all around armor on the hull… KV series is notoriously heavily armored… blame the german engineers who made it like that.

Yes. It’s always been like that… you need to throw it on top of the drivers hatch to be effective with them…

However something did go wrong this update… yeah.

Grenade launcher wouldn’t do anything to KV anyway… Yes… the tank that is almost impervious to explosive packs requires thought and special methods to kill…

Run at AT soldier if you’re so concerned with that.

nah… blame the game mechanic/bug that allows penetration trough tracks and armor above tracks as track armor doesnt exist.

75mm of roof armor is stupid. That only makes you resistant to aircraft strafing runs and people who actually gain the high ground against you

again, i’m not disagreeing with the post just that giving explosive pack 80mm of pen to compensate for the kv1 armor is stupid.

kv1 still has all around 75mm hull armor.

but also… i wound t be opposed… im sick of not being able to destroy t-34s of all kinds without having to perfectly cook a pack… along with sherman yet thats less annoying… somewhere along the line they adjusted either the pen and or physics of the pack and it became annoying.
