So someone could find a wreck in Czechoslovakia in 1950, rebuild it and use it to drive 30km into West Germany and apply for asylum of course!! :slight_smile:

this is a optical repair truck (one of six IF i recall right)
it was a very expensive set up made to fix, repair and/or replace glasses for american troops (last i remember the ball park number was about %35 of all army troops wore glasses)

alot of people dont understand how 4th dimensional war is
even more dont care

I guess you are one of those people who fits half of the ancient comment that amateurs talk tactics/strategy, professionals talk logistics… and you aren’t in the professional side of it :slight_smile:

This article shows how the US managed to increase it’s available manpower by provision of glasses to those who would have been rejected without them - they sample a few dozen photos from WW2 with about 12% of the men wearing glasses in all branches - infantry, armour, the lot:
