Turn Friendly Fire Back On

I feel the immersion is ruined when you are assaulting cap and all you have to do is blow it, but because of friendly fire your in cover.

Are you asking to be able to bomb your teammates? Or grenade them? Or arty strike them? I can’t tell

of course there would be penaltys

I don’t know. I’d hate to constantly kill my buddies with my indiscriminate shelling of point

and than we would have to avoid that

You vastly overestimate the average Enlisted player’s situational awareness

I don’t want it. Enlisted is just a fun game. If you need to consider whether you will harm your teammates every time before firing, The enjoyable gaming experience will be discounted, and you may also encounter intentional or unintentional harm from your teammates. All of this is just to exchange for a little bit of immersion, which is not worth it.

If you need friendly fire and immersion, you can play games that truly emphasize “tactics”. Generally, these games are like a travel simulator, spending a lot of time running from here and there in a game without a few truly intense and enjoyable battles, but this is a “real and immersive” battle.

Let’s be honest main game mode is a meat grinder and friendly fire wouldn’t be suitable for this design, you just rush in throw everything you got, tanks, planes, mortars, artillery, on top of that penalties would make it only worse, that being said i hope though for another game mode in the future that would be less chaotic, to be less of a meatgrinder and then maybe stuff like this could exist.

you really owe to the player to turn friendly fire back on by denying them this privilage. That is why this standard of low situational awareness is a prevailing problem. Especially for a game that is rated M.

The thing about enlisted is there is a model of realism in the physics used that just isn’t seen in other games. It is a real shame that all this goes to waste. We have fighters, tanks, bombers, arty, flamethrowers, mg’s, at artillery… The list goes on. Why have that stuff if not for a tactical shooter.

To me it is cheap like you go in behind a tank and just bomb everything and don’t die… NOt immersive. They drop arty on us and assault at the same time. How do you defend against that? or hold a cap. It’s impossible.

Yeah, so if we have friendly damage, we won’t be as comfortable using them. Your shells and bombs may cause serious damage to your team.

So it is reasonable to remove friendly damage in order to make so many fancy equipments more effective and fun.

This penalty will either be:

  1. Too strict, and you will get banned for using artillery/mortars/bombs at all. Perhaps even automatic guns considering the shot deviation.

  2. Too relaxed, and players will actively use friendly fire to their advantage (e.g. destroying a tank/plane to free up the slot, destroying allied rally points to get more spawns on your own for the quest, shooting allies who also try to blow up the enemy tank that you’re trying to destroy with an explosion pack, etc.) or simply for griefing.

Neither of these look like a benefit to the game at all, let alone like something it needs.

The reason for this is the intentionally poor marking system. They WANT players to have poor situational awareness.

I say that as a pilot, who could eliminate all threats if I knew about them. EVERY ground-to-air + air-to-air kill is entirely a result of the victim pilot being ambushed. Flying a plane is child’s play, the entire difficulty of pilot gameplay comes from constantly spotting planes, MG players and AA cannons in time.

Introducing friendly fire for immersion will require additional mechanics that increase this situational awareness. This may in turn reduce immersion, and it definitely harms balance.

Except you ruin the immersion and make playing other games more difficult. this also makes for dumber less interesting game play in general becasue it enables people to just be idiots constantly.

I was thinking it would still count as death with financial compensation and -2 kills to make up for collateral where the offender pays financialy to the other player tkee… You could take away te financial compensation to keep people from runing into machine gun fire by just making it a total loss, but remain with -2 kills for the offender and death for tkee.

If by making us able to look around in cockpits than that would be just fine because I fly in close to the battle and know I am shooting enemy before I make ground runs.

every plane player would be banned at the first minute of the game. Also tanks would be too hard to use because your teammates would run into your he shells. Artillery and bomber strikes would be an suicide

Just to double check: You are aware you can hold C (keyboard) to look around without steering your plane?

I’ve made suggestions to remedy this issue. Check out Spotter Pings for Binoculars.

And whats funnier than not getting into cp because one enemy is arty spamming it while the rest of the team are capturing it while not facing consequences.

Fun.

Classic.
Sole reason why this game is not a walking arcade is because of glorious dev design to put spawns 50-100m away from cps.
With ecen more fun consequences.

Arty spammers with -2000 points at the end of a match:

I had a great time using artillery when the friendly fire “bug” was on. I actually had to communicate what I was doing with my team and would think twice as hard before calling in a fire mission.

Too bad they fixed the “bug”

Just make harsh negative points and show people how to forgive teammates. If it’s repeated purposefully that is not forgiven, a team vote will come up to kick, and whoever has the most votes decides the kick or stay. NO AUTOMATIC SYSTEM KICKS
