TT Gaps and Event/Premium/BP Weapons

The latest BP was interesting in that it came with a BRIV Japanese rifle when there is none in the TT. I understand the Dev Team is working to a roadmap, however, I can’t help but feel that the Dev Team might benefit from looking at these gaps.

At some BPs there is a lack of stuff to use meaning that players need to field outclassed lower BR stuff.

At the moment stuff seems to get added at random and occasionally we see a gap filled by an Event/BP/Premium item which makes it impossible for someone to field a full lineup of BP appropriate gear. The Devs seem to add stuff at random, often leaving gaps in the BR. For instance, Offroad added a BRIV MG to the American lineup (there were already 2) and a BRIV Japanese attack aircraft (there was one already). Neptune added a BRIII Soviet tank to an already crowded lineup, a BRIV German one to another crowded lineup and a BRV German SMG (they had 4 ARs already). The only gap fill was the BRIII Japanese Rocket launcher. It’s great to have more stuff in the game, but I feel it would make for a better experience if the gaps were filled as a matter of priority.

I appreciate some of these gaps have been the result of rebalancing and I also get that it can be hard to find weapons to model in some of these slots.

Examples include:
*No BRIV Soviet planes.
*No BRIV US Rifle.
*No BRIII US Attack Plane or BRIV fighter.
*No BRIII German Sniper Rifle.
*No BRIV Japanese Rifle.
*No Japanese Sniper Rifle Beyond BRII.
*No BRV Japanese attacker.

Do you support giving preference to plugging BR Gaps for weapon/vehicle development?

Also, there’s no turreted BR5 Japanese tank (I am pretty sure Ho Ri Production and the other Ho Ri are casemate)

No BR V Japanese assault rifle
No BR II turreted Japanese tank for the Tanker II squad
No japanese bolt-action rifle that keeps the sight in focus
No competent BR II MG for the USSR

Id propose the Vickers 6 ton tank added to Japan tech tree as a Thai tank (for BR II)

Others have proposed Dutch rifles as options which Id support, we havent got any Dutch weapons in game.

I also think the Devs should work on fleshing out the Japanese in general… like maybe aim to release 2 Japanese things and one thing for the other factions in an update. They feel bare-bones overall… but everyone has BR TT gaps!

I agree though I wouldnt limit releases of other factions.

The Allies still barely recognise the British Commonwealth exists (especially in tanks, uniforms etc.).

More Chinese tech as appropriate to either USSR, USA or Japan could be good (mainly just for variety. Personally Id suggested they make a proper Chinese sub faction for USSR and have all soldiers change to Chinese on some new maps. USSR already has some German and Lend Lease tech so wouldnt be a problem having like Chinese Sdkfz 222 or CW 21 etc.).

Thailand as sub faction for Japan as I already commented, and Dutch. [not Dutch as a sub faction but captured Dutch East Indies weapons for more content). Even Swiss weapons [as a neutral nation largely not in game] would be preferable to fantasy BS crap like the M2 carbine sawn off.

Manchuko maybe had some interesting tech idk, Japan also had more vehicles than the game currently acknowledges.

Bicycles would be a fun addition since the Japanese were famous for using them. Maybe an equipment slot or something?

I am pretty sure all nations majorly used bicycles in WW2

Correct but Japan was especially known for it.

Others as I understand tended more to commandeer civilian bicycles whereas Japan had them as formal transport with their armies through Malaya and such.

In one story in Holland the Germans thought the Allies were coming so quickly stole civilian bicycles and fled… only to have to return later in shame much to the amusement of the Dutch when no such force was coming.

I prefer P1Y1(2X500kg) and B7A2(2X250kg+4X60kg)as BRV Japanese attacker.

I will say that a faction that lacks a specific type of stuff is also a kind of gap. You can’t just say there is already stuff on that br so you ignore the need.

The 2 mg that US has on br4 is M1941 Johnson which only has 20 round and Browning M1919A4 which can only be used prone. The Lewis home gun added did give US a mg that has large magazine and can be use without prone.

The firepower of Ki-83 is a bit underwhelming consider it only has 2 100kg bomb. Some even said it deserve br3. The addition of G4M1 finally give Japan an attacker that has considerable fire power.

Suomi KP/-31 (SJR) is highly requested by the players. It literally fill the gap of Germany doesn’t have a tech tree BRV SMG. Assault rifle doesn’t count since a lot of class that uses SMG can’t use it like pilot, tanker, driver, guerilla,
