Not a rant, not really a suggestion post. But anyone else have Chauchat squad, I like my unique presets with different squads and vehicles, it happens I have Chauchat LMG squad in one of my BR2 lineups.
Sometimes the gun surprises me, but most the time, even if using as a semi auto, I miss point blank.
Anyone else like / dislike it?
I changed the secondary weapon slot to Madsen, as a back up when up tiered.
I gave it a brief consideration when it was up for sale, but didn’t like the weapon. Had the premium squads come with unlocked weapons, I would have bought it in a second. Locked squads with feeble weapons, I pass. 
Gaijin could sell far more squads if they unlocked the weapons.
Its a wasted slot
I bought it so I guess I have to use it, thinking of putting that new BR2 Soviet LMg on secondary not Madsen
All the feeble Premium squads I bought with crappy weapons I changed to a secondary weapon. It sucks that you have limited ammo with the better secondary weapon you chose, and you hope there is an ammo crate nearby before you run out of ammo and have to go to the primary crappy locked weapon. 
I have the FNAB squad and use a secondary weapon because the FNAB just shoots entirely too slow to be effective, so it rarely gets used. To be honest, I rarely use the squad.
I love it. Brings nostalgia and got buffed over the years. Rather good in br2 when used as a semi or support gun.
If it hits it hits hard true. IF!!!
Ad for FNAB have them too, I call that my lead practice squad, similar to Grease gun 
Alright! I’m so glad to finally see someone talking about the Chauchat. Even when fired semi-automatically, it has wildly erratic heavy recoil. Comparing it to the MG 30 is honestly giving it too much credit. This is an old WWI weapon; historically, American troops would rather use bolt-action rifles than this thing.
In my opinion, it only makes sense at BR 1. Any higher and it’s completely useless. The Madsen has already been fixed, so there’s no reason to stick with the Chauchat unless you’re just going for a meme build. It’s terrible — even submachine guns can outperform it at range.
