Currently, the MP-38 is the most useless and pointless submachine gun on the 2nd combat rating. Also, its overall characteristics are inferior to some submachine guns of 1 BR. For example, the STEN MK2 submachine gun has a rate of fire of 550 rounds per minute, damage of 5.5, a 32-round magazine, and recoil control of 70 units. The S-1-100 submachine gun has a damage of 5.9 units, a rate of fire of 450 rounds/minute, a 32-round magazine, and recoil control of 60 units. MP-38’s current stats are 5.7 damage, 490 rounds/minute rate of fire, 32 rounds magazine, 60 recoil control.

As we can see, the MP-38 is inferior in its set of characteristics to weapons with a combat rating of 1.
I suggest lowering the MP-38’s combat rating to 1 combat rating.

MP-38 is tied with the FNAB 43 as most useless BR 2 SMG, and both should be dropped to BR 1. The FNAB could be buffed and left in BR 2, however as it is, it easily should be BR 1. The FNAB has the Grease gun ROF without the Grease gun’s damage.

FNAB needs a buff, especially to ROF. 400 is unrealistic compared to its real life 600-800 fire rate. It also is in need of a damage buff for 0.1- 0.3 more damage.
As for the MP-38 id rather see it get buffs before going to BR I.
MP 38 (with in my opinion viable fixes to become a early BR II SMG)
Dispersion: 77 › 68 (this makes it competitive since it’s already lower then BR I dispersions for most SMG and sits just under the 70 dispersion from the S-100 SMG at BR I )
Damage: 5.7 › 5.8
Reload: 2.6 › 2.3
If these are still not enough then recoil can be adjusted too. If that’s still not enough after recoil changes then downtier without any changes to the weapon at all. Many SMG have lower rate of fire within BR II. Not every weapon has to fire like a ppsh.

It is impossible to make MP40 or MP38 viable in BR2 unless banishing all 700 RPM guns into BR3.
They shoot too slowly, and RPM is crucial for SMGs.

I think the MP40 can hang in Br2 just may need a buff in base stats with like 525-550 rpm(525 being inbetween its historical fire rate with historically maxed out around 550 so plausible) and buffing its recoil stats to the following:
80 shot deviation
28-29 vertical recoil
9 horizontal recoil
Small buffs just shifting 1-3 points on its base stats but would make a noticeable difference making it a much smother shooting experience that would be viable in the sense do you want a smooth shooter or a bullet hose?
however the MP38 just has no shot with Br1 smg’s being objectively better stat wise and the best thing for it is dropping a Br, it would be the very best German TT smg automatically at Br1 though i believe to my knowledge
Even 600 RPM can barely compete - top BR2 Beretta is still weak but the 40 rounder does make it somewhat usable, still I would never use even that one over a PPS or Mas38
You’ve set its BR a bit too low just look at this submachine gun—it’s clearly worse.

Yes, Grease Gun is one of worst guns in the game.
Outside of pistols, I really cant think of a worse gun.
M3A1 was a very decent weapon before M1A1 was lowered to BR2. Now it’s just obsolete.
Doesn’t change the fact M3A1 was never a bad weapon. Opposite to normal M3.

Not tryibg to create the “best/better” sub machine gun just trying to bring it more in line with other Br2 smg’s to make a option someone doesn’t have to internally think “i know better guns exist but its iconic” as currently in the state its in their is no reason to use though i also feel we need to accept other factions just WILL have better gear in certain categorys, not everything should by symmetrical stat wise as some factions just WILL be better.
