Since a quick search on the forums didnt find anything - why do small arms have tracers in this game? I thought the whole idea was to aim for realism, soooo what gives?
Also - anyone else find it strange that all of the maps are in broad daylight? Battles that occur in daylight are largely accidental, no one intentionally attacks during the day. And yet there’s only that one dusky map in Moscow that comes to mind. Why no night-fighting?

To make campers easier to spot. Also to make it look more intense.
Because it’d be crap to play. You’d be staring at pitch black and most weapon classes would be useless. I’d like to see you use any BA, semi, sniper or DMR well in these conditions. It would only make full auto more meta. And noone but hardcore soviet mains want that.
Battles stretch over several days. To say that battles are not fought in daylight is certainly wrong. Especially in the second World War. That being said I hate the tracers.

Night maps are sorely needed, as is some weather. Gaijin, please pop a few clouds now and then so we can have rainy battles.

Yea but I can play CoD for that. The game is plenty intense without arcade tracers ruining the immersion. And you can spot campers well enough by the muzzle flash.

This just isn’t true. Lots of other games have night missions (Rising Storm e.g.) and they work fine, and even add a layer of tactical planning and intensity, since it means engagements occur in closer quarters. This would add some diversity to the combat.

Never said battles weren’t fought in daylight. Point is it’s statistically ridiculous for ALL the battles to be in daylight.

Well sure, but you could argue that the game cherry picks the battles fought in daylight. And those are the battles we play. In a game like this, implementing a night map simply wont work. The reality is, as you’ve seen. Many people are against it for gameplay reasons. If they add it I’m just quitting at the start of the match to play on a day map.
This game is already dark. Look at the dusk/dawn maps in Moscow and just inside of buildings in general. Nearly impossible to see. Add night on top of that and I’m out.
Night is Dark not Black…
1 Night Map would hurt nobody and they dont need to create a new Map extra…
Would not cost so Much Ressources from Developers…

Have you played the game? The muzzle flash from other players/bots is literally unnoticable.
I myself haven’t played rising storm. The closest to Enlisted’s possible night battles I’ve seen are warthunder night battles, and that’s something we don’t need. Cause I wonder how you’re planning to make long range weapons viable in actual night battles (not dusk or dawn, but actually night as you suggested) without making every one be set during a full moon.
Enlisted already has 90% battles in cqc. We don’t need more. Actually the opposite, we need larger maps and less dispersion to make medium-long range combat viable.
No, it would only make the current spawn smg squad and zerg rush point more common and easier.
And there were actually dusk/dawn battles when the game was in early access I believe. And those were a good idea, as you could still see while having a unique atmosphere.
And if we’re not gonna add night vision or filters to the night, and implement the night battles accurately, then you literally won’t see further than like 5m in front of you. Is that the gameplay you want?
Did you play Battlefield1? Look at this Night Maps.
All other Things i agree
No, I didn’t, but I did look at some youtube videos.
And yeah, they look like a full moon + extra filters to make it unnaturally bright.
And i feel like battles that happened at a full moon are much rarer than day battles.
And I don’t really want night battles that have as much visibillity as day battles, as it just feels artificial.
Rising Storm had several night maps that worked flawlessly, at medium and long range (Guadalcanal, Mamayev Kurgen, Otari Shima). Google for play-through videos. I just don’t buy it. Plus, how do you think they did it in real life? Use flares to light the battlefield, use tracers, use spotlights. There’s no reason it can’t be done. It’s almost comical that they included the Night Witches with no night missions - why do you think they called them the Night Witches? They’d be slaughtered in daylight.

Its no Big Deal. Its a Must Have.
Night Witches thats the Point
Flare Gun, nice Idea
The purpose of tracers is fundamentally to serve as target indicators. So if they wanted to give players an option to fit out MGs with 4b1t then they should implement a mechanic that any squad or vehicle engaged thus is instantly spotted on a first round hit as per the game convention for spotting with “v”.
Theoretically makes sense, but given that the “v” mechanic exists and is necessary to replace regular communications/coordination in the game, why would anyone use tracers to mark targets and expose their own position? Like the devs could invest in it but no one would use it.
Your assumption here is that many players actually use “v” - this option bypasses the intellectual TL:DR grayhounds and just lets them go pew pew with magic happening all around.
