Totally unrelated post- never seen a game have dynamic weapon reload while proned

Well not actually True Operation flashpoint: dragon rising had rocket launchers reload that interacted with the ground

But I’ve never seen reload animations that put in consideration being prone affecting the reload, such as :

• the distance between the weapon and the ground

• not taking in consideration the lack of space to perform the reload as smoothly as crouching or standing ( way less space to perform the reload )

• weapons with bigger magazines should theoretically be more difficult to reload on the ground : drum mags and specially the STG-44 variants where notorious for being difficult to reload because of its long mag

So something as rotating the weapon horizontally ( lying down the weapon on the ground) would make it easier to reload if the weapon had a magazine under the barrel so mostly smgs

Please don’t take this seriously devs, the last thing this game needs is another useless addition, fix the game balance and bugs before you start caring for the gun aesthetics.
Just wanted to write about this somewhere because i’ve never seen anyone point this out.

That’s one of the reasons why Bren has magazine on top. It was very easy to change it when prone.

Ah, that makes sense. In my oppinion, not the best solution to mount the magazine on top, but ok.

Invariably, the German weapon designers agreed with you and decided that side belt fed systems trump the top fed magazines for LMGs/GPMGs, and the world followed

That’s exactly what i thought!

Also the Sten smg

Sten and other SMGs had mag on the side to make it easier to fire from the parapet of a thentch as far as I know.

Also to stay as low as possible when proned, and that helped with reloading
