Because of thoughts like yours, the game died before merging.
The developers have already made a commitment to never have that idea again.
And it’s never healthy for the game either.
This is a matter you have to give up.
The game has already tried it in the past, and the developers have recognized that it is a big problem, and it will no longer be the base.
It should only be enjoyed at events or custom.
That is the intent of the current developers.
And I’m well aware of this issue.
That’s how much developers know that if it’s not this, there’s really no answer, and I know that.
I hate Ho-Ri too, but is there a way to take this out? No.
That’s why Ho-Ri is a necessary evil.
If there’s really no other way, it’s the last choice, but that’s why Ho-Ri and Su-9 came out.
They’re the only way to do it.
If that happens, it will lead to content depletion and fun.
Do you think that would be good?
I don’t think so.
It’s not fun.
Live service games have to keep content coming out, and they have to be fun as long as they are games.
If fix BR3 to the max, limiting the content, and it won’t be fun either.
A live service game with no change is a dead game.
Of course, there are people who miss the nostalgia of the past in the live service.
In that case, can add classic content as an event and custom.
This is probably how developers are thinking.
But from my experience in various games, everyone realized how terrible classic was. wwww (ex. WoW, and some live service games)
But at the end of the day, you have to think that this is a live service game, not a package game.
It should be a temporary measure, and it should never be maintained. (Limit BR)
Yes because it’s somehow a bad thing instead of just including the main stay weapons of ww2 that every other ww2 game does they choose to be unique and include prototypes and very cool weapons that you might not have seen before… i’ve never seen the viper… what game has portrayed the og-44?
We don’t need prototypes and fakes to be not like other WW2 games.
Literally by including the following we’d already stand out from most other WW2 games:
Eastern Front
Manchurian campaign
Detailed recreated cities like Stalingrad, Rzhev and Berlin
Ability to seamlessly play any front, any faction, any iconic vehicle
You’’ be surprised but the bare minumum of being able to drive a T-34-85 through Berlin had not been featured in big WW2 games literally since 2002 (BF1942).
No, But it’s a distinctive feature of this game… just because you don’t like it as it goes against the fantasy land that you have doesn’t mean it isn’t a unique feature of this game.
You’re more than welcome to respond… what game has portrayed this new viper or an og-44? I’ll wait.
This is a byproduct of the merge which you later are referencing with 34-85 in berlin i’m guessing and if that was from start of game well guess what that’s setting a president.
You don’t get to mention that lol it’s literally half the reason you hate this game.
One begins to wonder why you are so adamant on advocating for something that has been long gone.
It’s like if i went into liberal politics as a republican and just tried to shoot down everything because im against the views… well why am in here in the first place?
This “distinctive feature” was never this game’s DNA.
It’s cute how you call “fantasy land that I have” the bare minimum “no insanities” bar which was this game’s original concept and selling point.
I had been playing BFV and HLL for years when news of Enlisted appeared and I was super hyped to try it in May 2020 because unlike BFV it ticked all the boxes I was looking for in a WW2 game:
had USSR
had faction locked weapons
had more realistic, gritty feel
didn’t have prototypes and fakes
didn’t have clown skins
didn’t allow Japanese girls to run around Rotterdam
At no point of Enlisted’s promo, CBT and OBT launch did they say “prototypes and fakes will become a distinctive feature of this game”.
And now, 6 years later, the current mansagement has turned a once unique and self-respecting game into a poor man’s BFV, where Chinese boys are defending 1942 Stalingrad with a fake silenced PPSh, while post-war Su-9 1946 flies above them and bombs a time-traveling Panther disguised like an American M10 with a reindeer decal while Volkssturm guys all with Conders SMG rush forward.
This game is becoming everything I was looking to escape when playing BFV.
It is a fantasy for you now as the game has fundamentally changed and you are still stuck in the past… it’s just something i grasped to its not necessarily a fantasy land but it’s something you know will never happen and has been long gone.
Times change.
That started the second they introduced the merge… quite frankly you should have quit and instead, made your own game you envision as the perfect ww2 shooter portraying everything as historical as possible to the greatest extent.
While the Merge was the necessary mish-mash frankenstein creature of organ transplants in order to keep the game alive after the devs systematically inflated the power creep thus creating the “Stuart vs Tiger” moments and added more and more campaigns thus splitting the playerbase,
There was hope that now it was time for aesthetic surgeries and cosmetic procedures to polish the sharp angles and weed out the weird consequences.
However, instead of going towards WW2 the devs went towards insanity.
We’ve seen glimpses of hope with Market Garden and Italy vs Britain events.
And I would be dishonest if I said I didn’t think the feedback of like-minded players including myself who are passionate about actual WW2 played any role in that.
I don’t see how it would be impossible forever to at least create (bi-)weekly rotating playlists based around the old campaigns and potentially even new parts of WW2 putside of the normal MM like China vs Japan or France 1940.
I would like to note you do not have to play at rank V to unlock the latest stuff you can just play Rank I and II and only have bolties but all the fun goofy shit is at rank V mostly.
