As you stated, this type of campaign progression its only good for players like us that have Alot of time to play/do well/invested money.
On one hand, I understand the business model. The game as a free player it’s more limited to make people invest, witch isn’t that bad on a business perspective. But for the players that don’t have the time or money to do so, the game it’s more painful if the player wants to level up.
Imo, gaming its a luxury we can afford, if the free player can’t invest time, effort or money, I m not sure this is the right game for them.
This said, sure, less xp per campaign levels would be great for most community, but would be bad for their business on current monetization Strat.
If. They lower the xp cap per level, players like me or players that do well, will get everything even faster, making the game a bit more boring on the long term…
I like a challenge, I like grinding games. And I feel rewarded when I grind an item that I trully want with some effort on my side.
But that’s just me, since I have Alot of time to game.
Yeah I agree, with premium it feels like by the time you sneeze you already finished a level. After I finish grinding new content I spend a lot of time running around the practice range wondering what new stuff will be added next, occasionally I’ll play a few games.
with or without premium if I want I can do a level a day (180.000xp) so much there are only 6 hours of play without premium (which go down 3 with the premium) frankly I find it stupid to complain about the grind as much as a player should just play and have fun
If players don’t do well with a Mosin or Kar98s, then better equipment won’t help them much. You can literally just run into the point, kill maybe 1 enemy and still be good on scoreboard because doing anything inside of the objective is so rewarding. If you a playing decently well, you can top scoreboard just in a fresh campaign, with starter equipment. The equipment is overrated.
So you are agreeing with comparing this game to other f2p games that have no equipment progression? Or comparing a cartoonish mass appeal battle royale game to a niche ww2 shooter? The only other games with similar progression system and being niche setting are WarThunder, World of Warships and World of Tanks. Among these games, Enlisted has the cheapest premium and the least amount of grinding. The other game you could compare it to is Heroes and Generals, which used skins as premium content at first but failed to make enough money from that. They had to switch to a different model and even then they still had issue with making enough money to keep serious development going. Which eventually lead them to a steady decline and making all kind of awful decisions in regards to the mechanics of the game itself. Most of these awful decisions are from the attempt to improve monetization of the game.
On the proposed monetization, I personally don’t care about skins in a WW2 themed game. In Planetside 2, you could buy some ridiculous stuff, like neon lights for cars, clown horn, giraffe cammo and that was fun. But you won’t do that here and buying some authentic draps from some legendary infantry division have no appeal to me. The main reason I get premium here is the same I was getting it for Heroes and Generals - to support devs and see this game expand and improve. I personally don’t care how many players there is, of course more is better, with assumption that it actually brings money. As game keeps going and gets more polished, it will get more players. If so far it’s doing well financially, then it will do only better.
Imho the game is already too lenient in respect to players who don’t spend any money on it. The model of “Have a good time with us and then you might spend some money” is applicable only to a very large, mass appeal games. No wonder it all started on mobile. Those games just can’t be complex or have any deeper mechanics going on in them. They have to be dumb to make them easy to play.
Disagree hard there.
We can do good on fresh campaigns on scoreboard due to half of players being bots, also we know how game works and can just spam explosives on points.
It’s not hard to get 30 bolt-action rifle kills in one match to get battlepass task done.
It’s not hard to get 40 kills with one MG squad.
I don’t care how good You think You are, there is no way You can have a 15k score 40min game with just bolt action and one assult squad, no good tanks (maybe just camp out of bounds with puma idk) and without spamming plane bombs.
Change my mind, just give me 10k score game with level 1-5 campaign.
It’s really sad that half the players in our teams have barely any effect on match result if they don’t build a rally. Makes them worse than bots sometimes as most people here obseverd, and double shame we lost custom battles that were no diffrent from what we have now, without pain of playing maps You don’t like.
Even if someone stidck through all this shit, they are stuck on one campaign for 3 months (most people play 1-2h, not 3-6), and i doubt they will touch another campaign soon after.
Whats the point of having many campaigns if You expect people to only play one or two. I really don’t get that.
Wow we have so many more weapons and vehicles than other games.
Wait You want to play with more than 15% of them? We don’t do that here.
I played this for a year, since it went open beta, most of the time with premium. Only done 2,5 campaigns (tunisia should be less than half).
I have 0 intention of playing another two times as axis with barely any diffrent weapons, or playing as russians two times for same unlocks
No idea what those numbers are and why they are significant. I don’t even remember how many points I’ve got from a game 10 minutes ago. Can you shed some light on significance of those numbers?
Idk when thy relased gold but even back in 2015 you could buy virtually anything except soldier levels with gold.
Thats half true.
It may be “true” for certain aspects for inf gear but not for air and armour (at least in Moscow in terms of tanks).
Plus minus
premium BP
squad slots (which you have to rebuy in each campaign)
HnG is shit. Their least issue is the spam of gold buy options. Its starts with the miscarriage of the Soviets, continued with the lack of new maps and inf scopes and ended with armour 2.0 hotfixes and lack of new content of RTS.
Ehm No.
Already worked with Tunisia and Berlin CBT lol.
In other words. Either your team or the enemy team has to be dumb af if tactless gameplay leads to sucess.
I have no idea why you cant understand it too.
For special forum readers:
You are totally wrong with HnG.
You are partly wrong with the ingame costs.
Your idea of how to be sucessful in this game in terms of grind implies that the player has to face morons and bots both in his and in the enemy team which is… do I really have to reason it why this is a stupid idea?
You are so wrong with your suggestion on which player segment DF should focus on.
Because when you quote a single word, I don’t understand to what exactly you are replying to. Is this more clear?
It didn’t even start as F2P. Moreover the only worthy part of premium was extra perk slot. But please elaborate, or don’t.
In which way? Neither BP nor slots give boost to XP.
You do face morons and bots, on average, half of the time. All you have to do is literally be a bit better than average of your team. You don’t even have to win. 1 out 10 I get to the top accidentally by just fucking around with AT rifle or some other dumb shit. Is your concept of “success” is to dominate every match at as #1 in every match? That might be a bit too try hard for campaign progression.
If someone can kill tanks only with 250kg bombs, then yes, they desperately need better equipment. Or they can learn how to do it with 50kg bombs even after the nerf.
Though you know your texts. My bad.
I just try to reduce the wall of texts in my posts.
“Only”.
Hmmm HSG plus FRG is “only”.
Vet owners earn more exp, more credits (strangely it was mostly enough to cover your repair costs honkhonk) and whats also important, more wf.
Gold was and is also important for Generals since you can buy and resupply AT units (now even upgrade them) on the RTS part with gold which saw extensive usage until the clans and whales left the game. I admit its questionable if the RTS part is still as a good gold cow as in the old days. Let alone the grind which takes even more hours there than here (especially the “favorite” ribbons or things like the chaffeur ribbon for recons).
I dont know anything about the Alpha but iirc the Beta release was on 2014 and was always for free. I joined in Summer 2015 and didnt found any article or comment mentioning a change here.
BP gives silver orders. Aside achievements and events you dont get additional silvers orders and the silver orders for free users are ehm small… especially compared to the Moscow CBT/ pre-bp era. The slots are important because you can take more vehicles into battle (I mean you eventually wannt to use the grinded gear). Tanks and partly plane are a HUGH xp booster and having more tanks and/ or planes in backup is always better… especially in terms of grind.
And also remember that bp grants boosters too.
X to doubt. Maybe in Tunisia Axis but meh otherwise.
Its sounds more realistic than your idea. Retting rofl-stomped by Panthers or P-47s before you can even reach cps doesnt sound really good “economical-wise”.
So eq is overrated, why it matters if the new guys get it faster? After all it doesn’t matter.
Grind is ok for one campaign, not for 8, and more to come.
Let me guess how many more Tunisia axis stomps we will get, people won’t move campaigns. You all get to play your ez bot games
And 3x more score is not “overrated”, if You know how to use bolt actions and can get up to 5 kills/mag, you can sure do 10 kills/mag on mg. Let me know how easy it is to clear whole point with 5 bolt action shots (assuming You already threw granade to clear building before, because that’s the only way you could respond to this).
FG does it in seconds
First publicly accessible version was in 2012, I got my key back then in May. It was running on UE3 at a time. Two years later it was already on a different engine (running in browser) and became f2p:
The pre-steam release was imho the golden times of the game. I didn’t play with premium all the time and imho progression was pretty fast. It took couple of hours to unlock new weapon.
Yes, this was already after the “balance” changes. In 2014 I had a 1 hit kill sniper rifle that I’ve used to “grind” money for everything else while having fun. After the balance, all the components and ammo became so expensive that using this rifle, gets you into the red even in won matches , even with premium.
Well, unlocking new squads “helps” you in the same way too. Like I see the connection but it’s not something that has a direct effect on how fast you progress. Getting a better chair might help someone too. Like first SMG Moscow campaign is on Level 2, which makes the whole discussion on “only Mosins and Kar98” pointless.
Yes, but with less slots you can rotate to the airplane/tank faster. I have 7 slots in Moscow and barely ever fly more than ones per match in a bomber. With 4 slots, all I would need to do is just go and fight at objective, eventually die and fly again in few minutes. I’ve fought tankers like that just today on Normady, killed the guy in his howitzer 4 or 5 times in a single invasion match, while my PZ IV dragged on till the end of the match and run out of ammunition.
Beta and Alpha are different. Usually Alphas exist to either gain money for further investments and/ or test stuff. Did they said sth. like “We plan to put a price tag on the finished game” or what?
Similiar to Enlisted where the community was able to decide if they should demand a price for the future game or turn it into a free-to-play game. Idk though if Df actually cared about the survey results or if they already planned to introduce the free-mium system we have (I mean iirc Stalingrad was supposed to be here sooner yet even Tunsisia passed Stalingrad).
Its not necessary about “squads” but mostly about soldiers and weapons. Currently you can only get new stuff via the new squad (which is just one new gun and new soldier) and silver orders. Also consider that tanks need silver orders too and they cost A LOT orders (especially the good/ later ones).
“Rotate”? You mean like that you rotate between squads more often? But hw can you rotate between tank squads etc. if you have just one squad?
