To be honest, people mostly exploited because of the grind so I don't blame them

I understand why exploiting can be a bad thing but the progression is so slow, If people saw a fast way to progress of course we would take it.

first mistake was making lobbies work with standart matchmaking
there should be either MM or lobbies, but not all together (google translate used)

The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different weapons.

As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we’re looking at average per-player xp earn rates on a daily basis, and we’ll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.

We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Reddit, our forums and across numerous social media outlets.

Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon and as often as we can.

it had potential but devs kinda of dumped that.

Especially since it would have been a good tool for newbies to be bettet on track with whales level-wise.

Even with premium it’s pain to grind. Can’t imagine how hard it is for those without it.

10-13k without booster is the most of what you usually get from a very good match. Now imagine grinding even level 20 with that, especially if you play more campaigns.

Still, even if grind was not that hard this exploit would be used simply because that is the nature of the gaming communities. Due to that I struggle to have much compassion with such behaviour.

They need to sell XP boosters. It’s legit - it’s not free XP, and only gives you a boost.

I can’t imagine grinding any campaign from 0 right now. Agree - we need more XP gains somehow.

Players like to play, but running around with mosins and grease guns vs STGs is just no chance to even gain XP. This is turning away players probably - the grind

you’re absolutely right

Is this a quote, or are you an unlabeled member of the devteam? If it’s a quote, from where?

Is that base? or after premium boost?

for me a very good game as f2p will result in 12-20k with victory and battlehero, around 6k-7k base.

The grind isn’t even the worst part.

The worst part is consistently being matched with teams that have their keyboards in braille while the enemy team seem to be super-stars.

Nothing is as aggravating as getting a 100% boster, only for the match to be a completely one-sided roflstomp to where your team can’t hold anything, and you come out of that match with 60-70 kills while the 2nd best on your team is sitting on 20 kills or less, meanwhile the entirety of the enemy team is over 50 kills and the top 3 players are over 80.

You want to stop toxicity and people trying to cheat the grind?

STOP PUNISHING THE LOSING SIDE FOR THEIR TEAM BEING INADEQUATE, GIVE THE TOP 3 PLAYERS REWARDS AS IF THEY’D BE ON THE WINNING SIDE.

yep, they showed it as a place where people can have a full lobby of bots and get full xp as if in a normal match. So of course when people saw that people could kill bots for full xp the game-mode skyrocketed. I was playing with some friends with bots and there had to hundreds of lobbies because of the promotion of custom games. As soon as the ‘patch’ rolled out I only saw like 3 lobbies open with around 5-10 people in them. The devs really should have seen this coming, the exploits were bad but they could be patched with trying to improve the AIs pathing or something and then re-releasing custom games the exact same with full xp

He was asking about results without premium, and that was somewhat average gain.
Of course steamroll battles or some conquests can get you less than 10k.

I’ve had other discussions recently that have raised serious questions about potential differences in the rates at which different factions/campaigns/sides of a fight earn xp, so I’ll just say this and hope not to start an argument because I’m tired.

I’ve been tracking my games, so far I only have 8 recorded, all berlin soviets. In those games, I have won 7, earned battle hero awards in seven, and been in the top 3 on my team in 7, with four of those in first place IIRC because I’m dumb and didn’t record that. In those games, I have earned an average of 4113 base experience (so before any boost from premium or xp cards) with a high of 5756 and a low of 2934 (an admittedly bad game.) Someone else in the other convo The return of the random delivery of troops but with a new condition - #25 by 119777988 showed me his last several games that seemed to indicate higher than I would have expected average base xp gain, and at least one of them he earned more experience for a worse performance. There’s further evidence in the later replies. I can’t fathom 10k average base experience, unless there’s something weird going on that I just don’t understand.

Ok I think there was some kind of misunderstanding.
I wasn´t talking about base experience. Only experience without premium, where good battles (aka with battlehero awards, win award, long match and plenty of kills) usually gets you something around 10-13k exp. Of course, that without any awards exp gain is much smaller… that is true and I can´t question it.

Oh! you mean 10-13k exp, including victory and battle hero awards, but not premium bonuses! Sorry for misunderstanding you, that makes way more sense.

I’m pretty sure this was the EA response to the whole Battlefront 2 fiasco where you needed to play 40 or 50 hours to unlock a single Star Wars hero.
