Thought Exercise - What if Sweden was a faction in Enlisted?

Interesting guns from Beijing Military Museum (Part 1) (circa 2021) : r/ForgottenWeapons

Here you can find it in China hah didnt expected xD

Allied Lend-Lease accounted for roughly 4% to 12% of the Soviet Union’s total military production. With it or without it Germany had no chance winning the war against Russia it was suicidal mission even Hitler admit it in Finland 1942… USSR was 195 million people Germany was 69 million. Germany consumed annually 7 to 8 million metric tons of oil annually and produced only average of 5.5 to 6 million tons you don’t need to have PHD in mathematics to know how this gonna end. The only chance Germany had was to secure oil supply from US without it just like Japan Germany was doomed do to the lack of oil… its a problem Europe experience to this day. Germany lost approximately 80% of its total military casualties on the Eastern Front so 20% where not going to change the war it was stupid idea from the very beginning.

Enlisteds 100% historical accuracy is not the biggest focus anymore, thats no secret. One different unique feature about Enlisted is that they added a huge amount of weapons, more than any other game. Therefore I think it is a great idea, that would enhance the playable content even more.

(not just because i love Sweden in general  )

Oh, trying to be as historically accurate as possible was just my own self-limitation when I made this.

I’m not advocating for anything, and I do think the game’s development should go to finishing current subfactions first (or at least making them fully viable), before moving on to adding new ones that actually saw combat IRL (like France, Hungary, Romania, Finland, or Thailand).

This was just a hypothetical I worked upon, for fun, and I thought others would perhaps enjoy seeing the results.

But I would be lying if I said that I wouldn’t like to see Sweden in game, in about 6 years or something. I do believe that a Swedish subfaction (possibly joined by the Danes and the Norwegians,) for the Allies could be a very interesting addition to the game at some point.

Just not now, or for the forseeable future.

Btw, here’s a mystery gun for people to look at:

It’s obviously a m/96 rifle, modified to accept the 25-round magazine of a Kg m/40.

However, I can find literally no information on it, hence why I didn’t include it. I don’t know about any military or factory experiments, I don’t know when it was made or converted, nothing. Nothing, other than that this gun was briefly on auction in 2024, where it was sold.

Correct so far.

Probably false.
The most crucial aspect of lend-lease were not the weapons or ammunition delivered.
Lend-lease supplied most the Soviet Union’s heavy duty trucks and half of its entire fuel consumption and almost all high quality avaition fuel. Without these The Soviet Union would have been unable to sustain large scale offensives: no Bargation, no Uranus, no Saturnus, no Vienna or Budapest offensives…
Even more pressing is that half of the country’s food needs were covered by Lend-lease and almost all rare materials that would have taken significantly more labour in USSR to extract. Sure Soviet military production was impressive, but only because they could ignore other economic needs thanks to the Lend-lease.

The Soviet Union was not a Superpower during WW2, even if did turn into one not long after the war (only thanks to exploiting the economies of occupied countries).

This paints a very false picture if you do not consider level of advancement or cooperating economies (Germany was not a closed econemy unlike USSR before the war).

Anyway, that’s all from me, you can respond, but I won’t argue with you. I stated the necessary facts but I won’t start an off-topic argument in my friend’s topic.

And after this Hermann Göring the commie took 4 years plans copied from USSR…

So it seems nazi Germany was just worst variant of USSR with far less resources and people…

Probably not no real historian ever would tell you that Germany had chance even Napoleon took Moscow… During WWII, the Soviet Union produced roughly 110 million tons of crude oil (about 30-34 million tons annually). Military consumption fluctuated widely, with the Red Army directly burning over 2.6 million tons of fuel in 1942… so even without western support still the numbers are not negative like the German fuel shortage…

Not to mention:

Before the war, up to 85%of the Soviet Union’s oil came from the Caucasus, specifically the heavily industrialized oil fields of Baku (Azerbaijan) and Grozny

Two-thirds (67%) of the USSR’s logistical vehicles were domestically produced.

So yeah good luck… so you maybe will get 2 more years at best.

Totally legit historical fact:

Sweden had airdropable tanks during WW2.

They came in IKEA kits, and were assembled in the field.

You should read the story behind the giant industrial Ponzi scheme the Nazis created to build that war machine. Or how the 88 was developed in Sweden. Large populations do not equal might. That is just more bodies to feed into the machine. There are countries who have lost almost as many people with internal conflicts. China can take a 30-40 million person loss without batting an eye. Germany could have beat Russia, The Mongols did it with a lot less. We helped them after they stabbed Poland in the back. We did not nuke Japan to end the way we nuked Japan to let Russia know FAFO. Hard to believe if some filthy unAmerican traitors did not give the Soviets our secrets the US would have had nuclear superiority for 10 more years. I honestly never had any problems with Russians overseas. Wish I could say the same for continental Europeans. They are loudest most ungrateful.

The Mongols did it with excellent logistics that Germans never had and they had huge cavalry while German cavalry and tanks where fewer then the Soviets nothing to compare. The only thing is that the blitzkrieg is inspired by nomad tactics but Germany never had the same capacity of numbers like the Mongols. They are not even comparable. The Mongol army was like 120,000 to 150,000 men most of them cavalry units. The Russians could not mobilize more then 10,000 to 30,000 most of them infantry… there is no point in comparison even Germany never had the advantage the Mongols had. Wehraboos have doomer mentality… cant get over it they lost two world wars for a reason…
