This was a disastrous paratrooper operation

Core Issues Summary (Final Version)

I. Flawed Game Mechanics & Reward Systems

  1. Meaningless Victory Conditions: Capturing two points leads to an immediate win, which does not count toward any statistics or progression. This incentivizes players to focus on destroying vehicles rather than achieving a swift, but pointless, victory.
  2. Unjustified Reduction in Rewards: The score for shooting down an aircraft has been drastically reduced from 150 points to 90 points, severely limiting players’ ability to earn resources (such as calling in air support).
  3. Severe Lack of Map Content: There is only one map, and it is too small, leading to repetitive tactics and a monotonous experience.

II. Fundamental Conflict Between Historical Accuracy and Game Balance

  1. Forcing “Historical Defeat” Over Game Balance: The design philosophy prioritizes recreating the historical failure of the Allied paratroopers over creating a fair and fun PvP environment. Intentionally placing them at a significant disadvantage sacrifices gameplay enjoyment for the sake of historical mimicry.
  2. Neutered Paratrooper Assault Capability: The parachute descent speed was severely nerfed years ago, leaving paratroopers exposed in the air for too long. This nullifies their core tactical value of “surprise” and “vertical assault” in the current event.
  3. Disadvantage in Initial Equipment: The poor quality of weapons issued to Allied paratroopers further exacerbates the difficulty of engaging German ground forces after landing.

III. Lack of Content Quality and Design Sincerity

  1. An Event That Fails to Live Up to Its Name: A famous airborne operation has been implemented as a crude and simplistic mode, creating a vast gap between promotion and the actual player experience (“all thunder, no rain”).
  2. Useless Atmospheric Units: The background bombers and fighter planes are purely decorative. As a suggestion, learn from Helldivers 2 where support stratagems like the “Eagle” can attack randomly or bomb targets. It would be better if the game added random events like two aircraft strafing an area with rockets or a random large-scale bombing run.
  3. Intentional Inclusion of Poorly Skilled Soldiers: The system deliberately pre-assigns bad skills or leaves critical skills missing on some soldiers within a squad. This results in a frustrating experience for those units and is perceived as an insincere design choice.

The devs are once again demonstrating their lack of interest in working on Enlisted and that they only support it because… I don’t think they even know why they’re still doing this.

Honestly, when I first launched the event, what I imagined was something like this: the Germans would be overwhelmed by elite paratroopers spawning everywhere, creating multiple fronts. The Allies would rapidly capture points and engage the Germans in a desperate, fierce battle.

When I first loaded into the game, the number of planes in the sky genuinely amazed me. It was seriously impressive. But very quickly, I realized something was wrong.

The paratroopers descend so slowly! As long as I, manning an MG or a G43, aimed properly, they would be wiped out in an instant. It felt exactly like playing whack-a-mole. Or like Pac-Man, just slowly eating dots. Frankly, it felt even more tragic than the actual historical event.

Then, when I played as the Allies, in one match my teammates fought desperately and managed to capture both points in just about one minute… and then it was over. After the match, I just stared silently at the scoreboard. I had only scored about 500 points. What was the point of winning? I would have been better off just destroying a few more tanks.

After the match, I talked to the buddies I played with. Not a single one had anything positive to say.

I had expected this event to be so impactful and significant. But in the end, I found that if I just play regular PvP with three friends, all of us bringing only paratrooper squads, it’s infinitely more fun than this event.

My network and overall game function has been bad since the new update, and I agree, this event is trash. My first was over in mere seconds, the second was network interruption every 3 to 5 seconds with all my dudes being killed before I could ever play with them, so I played again, and although the game freezing on occasion and being terribly unstable I finally got to play and IMOP this is a horrible event. I will play for one reason, the weapons and the squad at the end, but it will be extremely unsatisfying and boring. I just want to get it over with.

My first two games tallied a total of 105 points, if that tells you anything about the shitshow I endured. I did have 1,500 the last, which was the only game I really was allowed to play.

I’m sure they knew how bad this was going to be. It’s not without reason that they lowered the score to 5k.

If the real Operation would be that easy then they could just bomb Germans and then paratroop to cap two meaningless bridges and win the war within a single day.

It’s lowered because not many people have played last awful JP vs SOV from start to finish. They had to do it due FOMO and “Engagement metrics”.

They will increase it to 8-10k next time as they will see on stats that most players have got all rewards without paying. “ALERT! ALTERT! ALTERT! We need to make event more miserable so they will buy our overpriced premium event pass.”

It’s absolutely horrendous. Not to mention the state of the servers after the update. The same map, same game mode for the next 8 days. I thought they had learned from the previous event and have now corrected the mistakes, but nope. Sure, they lowered the Battlescore requirement, but only because of how little points you can get if you play as the Allies and quickly capture the points. I had 240 points in the last game, cause I dropped onto an enemy spawn, got mauled, then I respawn, take out 3 guys and my team capped. I thought we’d at least get the regular Normandy map pool and usual gamemodes. NOPE!

Well but at least they kept the crap balance between the teams … took me 2 game to get the 5.000 points … made 1600 on the Allies side with no chance at victory & made 3.5k on the Germans freefarming the low BR paras with MG-42 & the halftrack scoring points.

Germany is clearly the way better side to score points.

Boring. I cant imagine how halloween event will be…

If paratroopers were all equipped with submachine guns, the event wouldn’t have fallen to such a state.

Yeah useless event battle and i am skipping it, even thought it is 5000 xp, but it is boring as fuck.

It’s probably an event created by a single developer, which is quite impressive, to be honest.

They should shut down Active Matter and bring the developers back to Enlisted.
