This is not a complain or rant it's just a question Why did the paratroopers get to carry more ordinance than the ground troops

They have enough ordinance on them to fight an extended battle and they’re not even carrying specialized pouches or anything And yet the standard ground troops we carry pouches and everything and we can’t carry anywhere near the amount of equipment that the paratroopers are carrying why

The amount of mortars they’re carrying they’re more effective than the mortars squad They’re basically the best Lone fighter squad in the game

The secondary equipment from crates back then came without pouches. But the people started to cry classically. So devs added more ammo for secondary stuff from crates.

That’s fine and all but you should not be able to carry 19 mortars and be more effective than the mortar squad otherwise there’s no point in using them ground troops are meant to be the ones who are well armed not the paratroopers

Imho, I think they should just get rid off the mortar/hammer setup.

Paras are already enough versatile without hammer. And mortars are kinda useless for parar anyway.

I would rather see some Medic setup with med boxes or smh like that.

That’s true but having 19 mortars is a bit excessive you could just shell the objective and charge in not even the mortar squad could do anything Like that and yet they can just go to an Ammo box and reload And do it all over again with 19 mortars

Two paratroopers spawn with 20 mortar shells each, the engineer have 20 resource point that can replenish a maximum of 5 ammo crates, giving a total of 140 mortar shells.

Mortar squad can have a maximum of 2 engineers, and 2 mortarmen each carrying 12 mortar shells, assuming the latter have the +20% more mortar ammunition perk. Engineer with +40% more resource perk will have 28 resource point. Each engineer can then build 7 ammo crates giving a total of 14 crates. 16 sets of 12 mortar shells total to 192.

The mortar squad will have a maximum of 52 more mortar shells than the paratroopers per spawn, it’s just that the paratroopers reload less often.

Reloading as little as possible embattled can make all the difference if this game wasn’t so fast pace I would agree with you

And thank you for doing all the precise counting still staggering but thank you overall

I would like to point out in addition to the conversation of the “mortar specialty”, there are other OP inconsistencies as well.

  • They don’t have grenade pouches, yet are able to receive a second grenade.

  • MINE POUCHES don’t exist for any troop type, (and everyone fights me when I suggest it), yet paratroopers are allowed to carry mines and get extra ones from the crate!

  • They don’t have backpacks, yet can get extra medkits from the “assaulter” specialty.

  • Pretty much all their “specialties” out of the crate are a STRONGER version of the standard squads, which is absolutely ridiculous considering they are supposed to be dropping in with LESS overall gear, and their specialty is SUPPOSED to be positioning.

sound about right. Paratroopers had to carry everything with them they might need and more. Once they were dropped that was it, they were on their own.

Sure but I doubt each individual soldier ran around with 12 panzerfausts shoved up their ass like they can do in game.

Probably harder for an engineer to pull an AT gun and 2 AA flaks out his ass
