This is a GREAT (and almost unrepeatable)opportunity to give Italy and Great Britain separate tech trees

As I said in the last devblog since we won’t have anymore campaigns and it will based on factions and weapons BR, this update gives the opportunity of having proper brit and italian squads with their corresponding gear, without seeing bersaglieri squads with g43s or americans with bren guns. (also giving both of them their proper grenade, backpack radio models etc without so much headaches)

Also it could give the matchmaking system more fluidity, since for example brit squads can join at times the french or the amies, depending on the kind of battle, and the italians can be both on Tunisia and in Russian maps.
Furthermore it gives the players more choices and consequently more variety.

Please devs please reconsider doing so because it is an opportunity that won’t happen again @James_Grove @1942786

Yeah, but they should keep this for next year. We shouldn’t need all the content basically now. I think its not priority now.

Well the problem is that they said they are going to fill italians and british squads into the same respectively “germans” and “american” line, alongside with their weapons.
So it’s best they do it now before the update aires , so they don’t have to have a huge pain reworking the tree and everything.

Yeah, they should definitely keep this in mind for future. It would be very bad to not count with something like this.

Yep imo it should happen now as they will have more options for campaigns. And i will rather have smaller Italian Tree than HUGE German tree with all the axis toys. They already have more weapons than theyr counterpart trees they really dont need more. Also in future when they split tree, some players will cry that they want to retain those thing in German tree and it will be like in WT where German tree has Italian planes, but only for some players that have been there before, soo more walls on content that is what we dont really need.

Honeslty giving that there is really enough Italian and British stuff already in the game that it would really not change anything.

But more importantly you can’t really do it later without being a bigger issue.
Because you either remove British stuff from the game and add it back later with the whole problem of people having it already unlocked and what to do with what they have.
Or you leave it in the US tree before moving it at some point to a British tech tree and you know have the probleme of people that were grinding for a specific stuff which get removed and put to an other tech tree they have to grind all over again (depending on how many british stuff they already had).

Doing it at the same time than the overhaul is the best time and not really going to delay things imo.

True

Yeah, I sure would like to see standalone British (or commonwealth) and Italian factions.

I’m not sure if separating those nations along with the big rearrangement is feasible… But ultimately, I guess Devs plan to do that when it’s the most profitable (if ever), and I have no idea if this would be the right moment in that sense.

I agree with @Adamnpee, let the devs (slowly) iron out the issues when they release the update then add other factions later. The update will have bugs and problems, if the devs have less factions to deal with first they won’t stumble as easily.

Though they SHOULD eventually add the different factions.

Absolutely agree.

I think it’s better to do it now, because afterwards as I said it will be a pain reworking the tech trees that are already filled with british and italian gears and squad (causing more bugs in the process I suppose)

IMO the devs need to release a beta of the matchmaker to test it because we know it will fail

It was just to see a possibly bright side of this, since I am not the first supporter of the big update.
But at least with this having proper british and italian squads will be easier than ever

I agree with you 100%, but I don’t trust the devs to implement them properly
