Here is a small list of things you could do some years ago but not today.
Jump over fences reliably
Jump through windows reliably
Build AT guns that don’t randomly start vibrating
or get stuck
Mount MG at most locations reliably
Use a ladder seamlessly
I know the game has been improved many ways which I appreciate. Yet some of the basic mechanics became so goofy that it scares off new players. Old players might be adapting to these shortcomings but new players will be turned off immediately when they get randomly stuck on a fence or realise that they can’t even mount an MG or climb a ladder without glitching into the wall.
The Devs should take these little things more serious.
LOL calm down, jumping windows and fences was reliable at least on my experience playing since OBT.
Mounting MGs never worked, that’s unquestionable, the AT guns became like that when they added the option to move those things around, before that they worked just right.
Ladders however, I don’t remember having issues climbing them, is it something new?
Berlin and Stalingrad windows are the most annoying. Advancing the point and getting stuck at a window only to be gunned down while trying to get inside
One thing I would like to add to the worked before don’t work now is moving while holding your weapon and you feet goes 2 centimeters up or down and you soldier has to hide his weapon to go over such a obstacle.
And this started when they did the movement update to nerf the imaginary bunny hoping people.
How about trying to hug up next to a wall or object (to make myself a low profile), and when I’m trying to engage enemy soldiers, my player lowers his weapon out of the screen for a brief second (as if he’s trying to interact with an object or climb).
It’s an annoying mechanic, and gets me killed regularly.
I can testify that at least some of them are in poor state.
The worst offender I can think of right now is the one to climb up the bell tower in the half-bombed church in that Normandy map, “ruins of Vaux” iirc.
You climb to the top of the ladder, then start shaking up and down, because instead of climbing over the edge and standing up, the soldier apparently gets stuck in a loop between the “climb up” and the “climb over” animation.
Turning to face a different side of the edge of the opening may successfully break the loop, but in either way, so at that point your soldier will either successfully hang to the upper floor and climb over, or fail to hang back to the ladder and fall down.
i played this game after a month of not playing it, and ladders suprisingly become worse. i have issues similar to serpiko where you just get stuck when you reach the top edge of the ladder, and then getting stuck into borked animation loop.
though the difference is that i manage to “jump” up into the roof or whatever i’m climbing to.
They did seem to significantly fix that issue in the Pacific, but somehow it’s just as bad or worse everywhere else. I would think of it works somewhere it would work everywhere, but while you can sprint downstairs in the Pacific without a problem, try the same anywhere else and you go flying
