It brought us a lot of new features and fixed a lot of bugs. They also redone rifle stats and etc.
But there are some features that I think should be looked twice:
Mg-42 nest:
Mg-42 first saw service in 1942 and has no reason to be in battle of Moscow. The nest by itself is overpowered so I think we should have fixed nests on the map instead. Also, instead of Mg-42 we could have Mg-34 nest for Germans and shielded M1910 Maxim for Soviets.
Guns and their stats:
Mosin dragoon and Mosin 1930 are larger and heavier rifles than Mosin carbines (models 1907 and 1938) but they somehow have better rate of fire despite being heavier guns. New Czech rifles don’t have their skins yet. Mosin 1930, despite being an upgrade over the Mosin dragoon has worse stats than it’s predecessor. Kar-98k reload speed is too high. Semi auto rifles are even more useless than ever. Madsen machine gun doesn’t have it’s right skin.
Engineer can build spawn points:
I beg you to remove this ASAP
I like the weapon changes for submachine guns, but for the full powered rifles, I am not such a fan.
What seems to be happening is that the devs are equating longer barrels = more damaging round, but generally, this should not be true. The muzzle energy of the bullets are not that much different coming from a full powered carbine than from a full powered long rifle. Mosin carbines only have 10% less muzzle energy than the long M91/30 rifle. The velocity of the bullet should effect penetration more than it does the damage imo, considering how powerful the actual bullet is anyway.
The changes for the SMGs were only on the german side. The russian SMGs remain unchanged compared to the previous version.
The dragoon supposedly was the longest variant, not the M91/30, at least as far as i am aware. So I don’t think that’s how they “balanced” this one gun having +2 damaged compared to any other weapon in the game.
Im pretty sure the MG-42 is just a placeholder. Its literally just the MG emplacements from Cuisine Royale, I don’t personally think they are OP, they are powerful but since they are stationary they are hard countered by tanks, explosives, and snipers
Remember, we’re still in closed alpha, alot of models are going to be placeholders
There are ways to prevent your head from sticking out when using the MG. Tanks don’t destroy the barricade with their cannon, unlike with the sandbags.
Regardless of them being stationary it only requires 2 carefully placed to lock up an entire area & the need of a tank to do the job that might not have a clear sight on the target is not enough to be considered a counter since you could get only two (not sure if 3 is the max because I see them sometimes) having to fight other tanks that are in places preventing taking a good position to shoot (if any).
Remember that total constructions numbers are based on individual players not the whole team which to me is the issue, means if all of one team (lets say 10) have at least 1 engineer soldier in their squad they could get a total of 2x10=20 MG nests placed around the map.
To me personally I find it odd that somehow even shooting the operator would not result in him taking damage even with clear & well aimed shot, I bet on the collision box of the MG support being big is the issue. With people being creative of placing them indoors (usually second floor with smaller windows at an angle) they are able to effectively mowing down even snipers while being concealed from taking shots.
The funny thing is that dragoon has the second best RoF of all the bolt action rifles. This is so wrong because it should actually have the worst RoF. With this stats players have no reason to use Mosin carbines
About the nests. I think they are trying to copy Squad somewhat.
Issue is, I don’t get why engineers can make spawn points on such tiny maps. This is OP.
Also, engineers should be more free to build with sandbags. While I do agree that MG emplacements are powerful, I believe even a sniper can destroy one pretty easily.
There are many balance issues with the game.
In my opinion, upgrades on the guns and stuff are just way too powerful. A new player cannot do anything against someone who has -70% recoil, fires fully auto, +35% health, sprints faster, …
pretty much with the engineer class, if you know where to build an MG nest and camp with it near or at the point, you basically win the whole match with your team.
