Having completed the US Campaign, I started trying the German side over the weekend. I leveled up through the Gwr43 and am pushing on.
After obtaining the 43 and burning all my Silver Orders to equip my Soldiers with it; I switched over to “Join as any side.” Every match I had was on the Germans, I pushed the UI over to US thinking that might be giving a preference, and that didn’t even matter. I also noticed the best communication on the German side, with the worst steam rolls happening to me that I’ve ever experienced.
About 20 games all pushed to German, with some extraordinary bad games, and experiencing better communication than I’ve ever seen on the US side.
I think there might be a problem with side balance…
Most ww2 games I played on my past since medal of honor alied assault on multiplayer, German side always have the best players at any time.
Most of us choose Germany for various reasons… Most of us will always do our best to guarantee a win… Sadly this only makes imbalances on the long run.
Besides comunication. I noticed all this years that usually ge will keep the larger playerbase willing to play for the objectives.
That has been my experience as well. German sides usually have less casual players and typically is more experienced in other games. The extreme losses I ran in to and “Join any side” always pushing me to German is what concerned me most.
Whatever they need to do to rectify this situation, needs to happen fast, or they run the risk of creating a severe skill imbalance and player number problem with the sides.
The problem that most of German players like myself only play German side on all ww2 games.
Most times players that only play ww2 fps shooters since the end of times… We, trully devoted from the option to select Germany and playing over and over again the same side gain knowledge on the equipment, how it performs, what we expect from it… And also fps skill…
Like me there are hundreds hundreds more…
On the other hand,and as an example I know a grease gun will be shit comparing to my mp40, and that overconfidence on “my weapons, my tanks my planes and my grenades” will be better ill only make me more confident in pushing an objective.
I couldn’t imagine playing with a m3 grease gun pushing as I do right now. That weapon will cut my confidence just in half.but this is just an example as many other options…
PS : sorry all this edits. I m drinking beers with friends that, also play this game as German xD and we are getting too drunk xD
Yeah playing germany on Normandy The last 7 games I’ve played my team has lost and I’ve gotten 70+ kills every time with well placed spawn beacons, bundle of assists etc.
I’m not talking as some absolute authority on this either, so please don’t take my posts that way
Just having competent teams with Germans in both Enlisted and WT is so few and far between that anyone saying they’re the best in all WW2 games is tickling my funny bone.
They’re good in the more sim games like Post Scrotum and Turd Let Loose, but in F2P ones that’s far from true
I have heard many times that german players are tryhards or whatever, but I have never witnessed it.
What I witnessed was that when I play german / german-like faction it loses heavily and wins barely.
But maybe that’s only me (although it’s 3rd game that repeats this scenario).
Also I agree in terms of familiarity with weapons. When you get your MP40 you don’t wonder how it works, you just shoot.
