The Sturer Emil was a prototype tank destroyer that mounted the 128mm Rhinemettal Kannone 40 L/61 gun on the hull of the incompleted VK 30.01 H, which was a Henschel proposal tank that wasn’t adopted, but it’s design eventually lead to the Tiger 1. The 128mm cannon was the only armament on the vehicle, and had 15 total rounds carried. The reload time in war thunder is 16 seconds default and 12.5 ace crew, with -15/10° vertical guidance (which has amazing depression), but only -5/6°, which is very low even for a tank destroyer (for reference, the Dicker max has -8/8° and the StuG 3F with -10/10°). Due to the cannon’s massive size, once you can get it loaded, the effects are incredible, quite a bit bigger even than the Dicker Max, but still quite a bit weaker than the 15cm SIG’s cannon. Below in the spoiler is the shell penetration and filler content taken from War Thunder.
The armor values are basically the same as the Dicker Max but with a bit more ‘turret’ armor, with 50mm hull and 50mm on the turret, although the 20 extra millimeters won’t mean anything against a BR2+ tank. Similar to the Dicker Max, it is open topped which is a major disadvantage. It is also 3 Kph slower at 25 Kph maximum compared to the Dicker Max. I think that this would be an interesting vehichle to have in game due to how it would play out with a big gun on a fragile chassis, quite similar to the 15cm SIG.
Event without squad because this was in the 521st Panzerjäger Abteilung which is already in game.snd it could be used by that and maybe the Tanker II squad
This vehicle is very similar to the Großtraktor, but it has super great gun depression. Unfortunately, Enlisted doesn’t offer much terrain advantage. I think since both the 88cm carrier and the Großtraktor have been moved to advanced squads, there should at least be one in the tech tree. Otherwise, German players will have to pay for any weapon capable of penetrating BR3 tanks, which feels terrible. I originally hoped the 88mm would be in the tech tree, but it seems df prioritized profit over the armor balance for Germany at BR3.
I recall that the hull of this tank is the VK 360.1, an early prototype of the Tiger tank. Perhaps in the future, a prototype Tiger could be introduced at BR4. Therefore, this tank also has very high frontal armor.
Well, to put it this way, seeing rejections from Soviet players is pretty predictable—it’s like they don’t want Germany to have tanks that could threaten the status of the KV series, similar to how German players felt at BR5. However, I’m not too sure about other factions like Italy. Since I sometimes play as Germany at BR3, I enjoy seeing new additions. But how about suggesting a captured T-34 for Germany instead?
Well, that would be quite tricky. This thing is known in War Thunder as a 4.0 BR can-opener, and the 128mm gun is absolutely terrifying. I’m scared of it too.
The main issue is its armor thickness—HE rounds can’t effectively hit frontal weak spots.
I feel like that Sturer Emil would not be too interesting with Dicker Max already added and also because its literally designed to sit in the back and camp over long range.
Pre-mass production vehicles are prototypes, but Sturer Emil was never meant to be mass produced, they just reused the hulls left over from a cancelled tank project.
Have you played enlisted? Personal opinions aside prototypes are absolutely commonplace and do nothing to justify excluding a weapon, only just not making it tech tree
