The second-level radio squad should be like the second-level engineer squad, with new enhancements, such as shorter artillery cooling time, stronger artillery power, larger artillery coverage, etc., and now the only value of the second-level radio squad It is to unlock a new rifle, and it requires a lot of experience to upgrade. The radio team is very difficult to upgrade with three people at the beginning. After the upgrade, the team’s ability is no different from the first level, making it very worthless. In addition, now there can only be one shelling called by the team, which is not worth having two radio teams.
How about not adding any “buffed artillery” to the game, just give the second one the option to choose smoke artillery…

The artillery has been heavily nerfed on the last major update so yes, a “buff” isn’t terrible.
Your radioman II gets 1 or 2 bonus perk stat maximum… There’s that.
That squad tech tree isn’t really to unlock new feature, it’s to unlock a better version of a particular class. Same thing goes for assaulters: their tech trees are identical, but unlocking all of it gives you the possibility to grind soldiers with better stats, thus giving you access to better perks.
I don’t think it needs a buff. It’s still an effective situational tool but can’t be spammed mindlessly any more. Having players with two artillery squads would just exacerbate the problem.
+1 to the idea of a support arty squad, maybe with smoke and flares that give temporary map markers.
You can only use 1 arty per team now (something that I agree) but it’s not the only nerf they did. The damage has been halved, the time between each arty has been doubled from 30s to 60s and to finish there is also now a delay of 5s before the arty start.
So yes, some things can be reverted because for now it’s almost useless.
