I’ve been playing German BR3 all night and managed to rack up a full 25,000 points. Almost every match was against American forces, with only the last one being against the Soviets.
Honestly, while the Americans don’t have the heavy front armor the Soviets have, they have Sherman tanks and powerful air support that the Soviets simply can’t match — it’s a clear advantage.
Defending objectives feels really frustrating. I fought my way to first place on the leaderboard, only to see second place just some pilot with barely any air kills and only six vehicle takedowns.
I read an old post from a German player once saying that the Soviets only need game sense and holding spawn points to win. But I’d say Germans need smart tactics and solid spawns just as much.
I honestly wish the clueless teammates would just stay back and let AI handle building spawn points instead. When enemy tanks bombard us nonstop with HE shells, most players never bring proper anti-tank weapons to fight back.
American rocket spam feels endless, along with constant 500-pound bombs. Any APC out in the open won’t last five minutes. That’s another major advantage the Americans have over the Soviets’ heavy armor — overwhelming air support.
It doesn’t matter how hard I hold the front line alone, countering every push as best I can. Teammates never build spawns. There were times I cleared out every enemy assaulting the capture point, only to respawn and find everyone 100 to 400 meters away from me. Aside from the APC I drove up front, not a single teammate bothered setting up a spawn point. It’s so infuriating — what’s everyone on the logistics team even doing?
It goes to show, no matter which faction you play, having too few competent, thinking players on your team is a critical weakness — it’s not just a German side issue.
American infantry combat performance is actually pretty average, but the 105mm Sherman outperforms the T-34, and paired with air dominance, it leaves you unable to handle enemy tanks and infantry assaults at the same time. Matches like this really rely on having reliable teammates.
Still, even though the 105mm Sherman is extremely strong — just like the KV-2, it can easily overpressure Panzer IVs, even Panthers and Tigers — I don’t think it should be moved up to BR4.
Every time I run into this troublesome tank, I can’t help thinking about the ISU-152.
