I just realized that there is a perfect solution for people who get “offended” too easily, but also allows those who wish to vent & say whatever they want without having to worry about their posts being removed: Create a mirror copy of the “mess room” (i.e. a second mess room in the forum) and allow people to say whatever they want—without restriction. This creates a place where people have the freedom to say whatever they want, while at the same time protects those who get offended since they don’t need to visit this mess room.
Of course, you would need to restrict access from minors—which I’m sure Gaijin can confirm with credit card records for those of us who have made purchases in the past, or with some other means for those who haven’t.
I think this could be done quite easily without a lot of extra work time involved.
Problem solved!
Not going to happen.
It doesn’t matter the section, there are blanket forum rules that must be adhered to.
If someone gets offended by something you post, then it might just be on you, and not the fact that they are “easily offended”.
We have rules for a reason.

Of course it’s not going to happen—it makes too much sense, and would actually solve the problem. People don’t know how to solve problems these days—they tiptoe around nonsense and implement “solutions” that don’t work for anybody.
Well, if people were made aware that there are different rules for this new different section, then the old rules wouldn’t apply anymore, now would they. Not that difficult to create, not that difficult to understand, and even easier to maintain.
Yep, you’re right—and on various occasions in the past it was on me. Other times, my posts have been removed for no valid reason.
Dictators say the same thing—is that valid just because it’s a rule made up by someone?
No, it makes no sense at all.
As I said, we have a blanket of rules that must be adhered to.
No, there’s always a reason. Whether it’s apparent to you or not, is irrelevant. You broke a rule. That’s all you need to know. The system will tell you why it was removed. As moderators, we’re under no obligation to spell it out to you. In fact, we reserve the right to remove posts without reason, just so you know.
The rules were made by the admins of the forum. Call it a dictatorship or whatever, it doesn’t matter. Rules are rules. You signed up and agreed to them.

WOW! You’ve definitely been drinking too much of the kool aid.
Mate, if you actually knew me, or spent a moment talking to me IRL, you’d realise just how dumb that last retort would sound.
That said, follow the rules in this not-so-public forum, and your inane posts wouldn’t be hidden/deleted. Just a thought, yeah?
This would just cause too much unneeded drama, drama that would absolutely end up bleeding into the other sections of the forum.

If you’re so inclined, create your own personal Discord channel or something similar. And there, throw all sorts of interesting things at each other.

That’s actually a decent idea.
Food for thought.
“OMG, we can’t try something new, it might not work.” You can’t improve on something if you’re completely, 100% joined at the hip to the very thing that isn’t working.
i you were revealing biblical truth you would have a point, but name calling and insults are not constructive opinion.

I think a better thing to maybe advocate for would be the ability for individual users to have the option to “unhide” a comment so they themselves can see what was said. That way you can decide for yourself if you are willing to “unhide” a comment at the expense of potentially getting upset at whatever was said, and if you are not willing to do that then you simply leave the comment hidden for yourself.

“Oh no, people are offended by me disrespecting the rules. When it’s definitely the system’s fault, the fault is surely not in me”.
Geez.
