The paratrooper drop box needs a rework!

SUBJECT: Paratrooper drop box (suggestive necessity)

DEVS: The paratrooper drop box needs a rework!

When you stated that paratroopers would have a drop box with equipment inside, I assumed we could open the box and take what we wanted; however, you grouped all of the equipment together causing a major issue:

PROBLEM: I selected the group of equipment with the engineer’s hammer. Here’s the problem: I have the engineers hammer mapped on my keyboard as numpad 2 for my engineers. For my mortar characters, the mortar is also mapped on numpad 2. Never caused an issue before! However, when I select that group of equipment from the drop box, I have zero access to the hammer & only have access to mortars. Then, when that character dies the engineer appears under a different character. Now I have the hammer. When that character dies, it goes back to mortars again.

SOLUTION: instead of grouping the equipment together, why don’t you just let us choose what we want individually? Wouldn’t that be the best solution, instead of forcing us to take equipment we do not want? Just put all of the equipment in the box, and let us choose whichever items we want individually. Problem solved!

Furthermore, dropping behind enemy lines is kind of pointless if the capture point is lost, the sector is closed, and all of your paratroopers die because of it. Please stop closing sectors. And also make them bigger so that you can flank the enemy properly. The sector sizes are way too small on most maps.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

The only thing who upset me is there is no engeneer in each squad possible only in mortar ( for the JPN one dont know if its the same on Normandy ones)

Nah, you made mistake. You’ll get two mortarman and one engineer. There’s literally no way to have mortar and hammer on single guy.

ANOTHER SOLUTION…

Yeah, you’re probably right. It was the first time I used it, and I was engaging the enemy and trying to figure it out at the same time. Still, why group this stuff together? Just throw it all in the box and let us choose for ourselves.

I absolutely hate it when developers take away choice when playing a game. Everybody plays differently and everybody has different preferences. So why not make the options available?

It’s exactly the same issue with the new matchmaking update that’s coming: Everybody gets thrown into a giant group and assigned to a map. Read through the forum. There are tons of threads from people stating they don’t like playing certain campaigns or maps; yet, instead of giving us options,… the option of choosing which campaign to play is being taken away. It makes no sense.

The simple solution is to allow everybody to choose campaign, map, and game mode. Then nobody ends up in a game they don’t want to be in, thus lessening the possibility of desertion. The best thing about it is… everybody’s happy! The maps can be locked down to require certain weapons to join the map, just like with the new matchmaking update. Again, problem solved without taking away choice.

In fact, the new matchmaking update can be implemented as well for those who don’t want to search for a map. Then everybody gets what they want.

Anyway, that’s my rant for the day. It’s a logical solution; unfortunately, logic doesn’t seem to make its way into solutions very often. Frustrating as hell. And nobody wants to play a frustrating game—hence why the player population is down.

only bad things come out of your mouth?

So by giving you a new class and gameplay mechanic the devs took options away, from who?

Your statement doesn’t make any sense!

Since you don’t seem to understand what was written, let me explain it to you another way: We don’t have the “option” to choose individual tools (characters) from the paratroopers drop box. We must accept a “bundle” of tools, thereby removing our individual choice of choosing them individually. Thus, choice wasn’t taken away by “giving us” a new class or gameplay mechanic (as you have stated), the lack of choice is WITHIN the new class itself.

Hope this clears it up for you!

I think it’s probably for balance - para squads are already very powerful. Imagine if you could also choose whatever loadout you wanted it’d probably be too much and would no doubt lead to being exploited.

So just because you can’t modern warfare loadout drop 6 dudes means there’s no choice, on the contrary, you can bring a paratrooper squad and become pseudo mortars, gunners, bombers and snipers, you aren’t locked into bringing 4 classes that might not suit the situation
