With the new update the game for me became more hectic than ever before (compared with the lvl of mortar usage before they were changed), I find this to be due to player numbers its too often regardless of time of testing/playing one team would suffer from having most of it’s team comprise of AI/Bots (way more than half I would say 80% if not 90% of that team are AI/Bots) which turn it into a shooting range match where one side getting slaughtered.
Even more balanced games it turns to be way campy than it should be (or already was). In this screenshot,
The red dots stands for MG nests while double dots stands for a tank.
The tank was actually having full sight on the spawning locating, while a player would be able to escap the AI controled soldiers of his squad are getting killed & leaving the area with barely 3 soldiers out of 7 (player & 2 Bots), moving to the left of the spawn the player would be met with an MG nest already aimed at the spawn & without spawn protection it’s an instant death, on the right side it’s not that much different other than having little cover made by a building that offers no reliable position to take off the MG nest operator on the right. That whole right section was controlled by only 3 players dictating the fate of anything that spawns on the left while the right have another tank with the rest of the other team players. It’s good to note that in this match the other team was losing reinforcement points while my team lost reinforcement points only be soldiers getting killed, as the other team got the 3 players in position my team wasn’t able to move past C point on the right & getting camped on spawning on the left.
Matches I play are getting more & more of just 2 natures, one team would most be AI/Bots which would lead in a loss with extremely bad gameplay experience, the other is spawn points being controlled, more in the manner of a sight at the actual location of soldiers spawning or places that spawn protection is lost.
More on MG nests, I saw it on 2 matches that players are able to use it while only the soldiers hands are visible (crouching) all the while they are able to effectively shoot & aim. I’m not sure if those players were cheating or it’s basically a bug this made it nearly impossible to kill them while they can mow anything that appears on their sight or possible enemy movement route specially at controlling routes from spawns to objectives (sorta similar to the above mentioned case).
The developers need to reasses & evaluate such cases with question like “Is it the design intention?”, to me personally a lesson must be learned from War Thunder to not design maps were it’s very easily (or even possible) to lock up an entire enemy spawn locating.
