although, either new matchmaker, or no game with 40 campaigns and barely a playerbase to sustain it.
nevertheless, all legit concern as has been layed out through time with the thoughts of a matchmaker based on skill or any other criteria of basement.
looking forward to customs though.
maybe we’ll be find a tune for it as we may please.
and, as you are a content creator, i’m sure you’ve got somewhat of a community.
i’m sure you might be able to gather and host some custom games with rules and settings.
as, i’m not sure we’ll find a solution to the problem at hand.
mostly because limitations aren’t the devs way of thinking.
( let alone all the arcady players that unfortunately we got )
1 nade launcher in a squad is ok. But when i go against people, who deck out 2 full rifle squads with nothing but rifle nades. Yes i hate them with a passion. Because they have absolutely no skill.
I have three infantry squads. 9 rifleman in each team, each has the additional weapon skill, which gives 5 shots from one grenade launcher. Which gives 135 grenades. That one grenade always stays on the second rifle. If you’re stubborn, that’s 162 grenades.
And yes. I find that overkill. Grenadier should be a separate class.
As Veterans we should regroup and establish the rules or codes of conduit on the battlefield to make sure no cruelty and abused take place in our games. And assure some fair regulations on the use flamethrower or White phosphorus on the battlefield.
We can call it the “Lyon Convention”. It’s a city in France close to Geneva.
Flame throwers are needed in certain areas. On invasion mode with a bunker as a point of attack, you need flamethrowers to dislodge the defenders. Because they will be stacked in there thick. No amount of running in, spamming nades, and mowing down guys is going to be enough to cap the point.
Best match I ever had in 2+ years and yes, despite it being a sweaty defeat, everyone took the time to appreciate the moment and what an intense and rare match they’ve just played instead of crying about it as if it were a blasphemy to all that they know or hold dear lmao.
When I have had been in a full human match. It’s the best games I have played. Yes they are sweaty, but man it’s fun. Especially when both teams are equally skilled so it’s just a slug fest back and forth
Whether they do this or not remains to be seen, but the battle ranking could easily prevent this.
If for example flamethrowers, white phosphorus and grenade launchers etc had the highest battle rating it would be a start - but if it also increased exponentially if you spammed this in your loadouts it would help further.
For example if one WP grenade added 10 to your BR - your second would then add 20, third would add 40 and so on. Numbers are purely for example - I’ve no idea what kind of number will be involved.
This could be done for any of the so called meta/spam/toxic items.
This way if you load up purely to spam a certain item, you are penalised more heavily in terms of BR.
They could also consider a cap on your BR score (different cap for each matchmaking level - such as low tier, mid tier, high tier, top tier) - either applied in total across all squads, by individual squad, or by individual soldier - or even by all 3! This would not allow spam and would force players to actually consider what they equip, as taking 3 WP grenades may then limit you to a bolt action rifle for example - or force your other soldiers/squads to be weaker.
After all - surely nobody in real life would have been equipped with everything.
I mostly agree, WP spam and nade launcher spam is awful, you can’t even counter it unless you also have some form of high explosive slinging weapon. That and the number of times I get the first shot off only for an opponent to whip around to eliminate me instead is baffling. I would also recommend a limit to the amount of high capacity repetition firearms to be allowed in a squad, but in some maps, getting to the point with a squad member alive let alone the one with the right weapon is slim.
Moscow is about the only bearable campaign to play at the moment with the others being an absolute mess. Well, Normandy is ok when the axis doesn’t spam tigers and panthers, but that happens a lot these days. Tunsia is also my favorite so long as the allies don’t have Shermans. I think flamethrowers are fine as they are, any buffs would be strange, and any nerf would make them unplayable. Would implementing a flak-jacket or flame-retardant clothes equipment be too much of a nerf to high explosives and flames? Vitality perk is basically armor for troops anyways, but surviving the first high explosive round is the issue still. Is there even a counter to WP?
I made a suggestion about a deck system based on branch. You have a deck for each branch and can choose which one before each game. Would force a little more diversity
German example (just general idea. 3 branches, not fully fleshed out)
Luftwaffe
Avaiable: Infantry, paras, light tanks, tank destroyers all aircraft, fg42 variants
Unavailable: stg variants, medium tanks, heavy tanks
Wermacht panzers
Available: infantry, all tanks, only fighter planes, stg variants
Remember any of the “competetive events” Enlisted had and how “fun” they were?
Yeah for the upcoming “top BR” imagine that, 10v10 maxed out veterans with flamethrowers, rifle grenades, phosphorus, 10 heavy MGs built, fantasy OP weapons like AS-44 go tratata and IS-2 122mm HE shell from grey zone go boom – that’s what top BR seems to be shaping up like.
The issue I have with limiters is that with such a low time to kill it would be equally frustrating to finally get a squad you worked hard on to level up only to get it wiped at spawn and then being unable to use it for however long. Especially if you are trying to level up a specific squad and have no reason to work on the others in the rotation.
