The new life of the old Soviet troops

Hello. This is about the combat squad USSR that were in the Alpha test of “Battle for Moscow” and “Battle for Berlin” and that did not reach implementation. And also about the units that were renamed.

Let’s start with the “Battle for Moscow”.

The units marked with a red square did not make it to the release. These are the 124th Tank Battalion and the 505th Rifle Regiment.

145th Tank Brigade
124th Separate Tank Battalion

153rd Rifle Division
505th Rifle Regiment

Renamed

For quite a long time, the 233rd Separate Communications Battalion wore the 49th Radio Operator’s icon.
Perhaps it was originally named the 49th Communications Battalion.

“Battle for Berlin”

171st Infantry Division
380th Infantry Regiment

The old IS-2. Do not pay attention to the name of the unit in this picture. This unit is in the game (267th Separate Tank Battalion).

Renamed

c518f2c809e5b3e97d7b4bf15c1f01c0f7ceb3b1

The old name of the 73rd Guards Communications Battalion is highlighted in red. This is the 137th Separate Sapper Battalion.

The idea is simple. Use these names for future event, premium, and upgradable combat squad (engineer, radio operators, armor-piercing units - 3, etc.)

:grimacing: I don’t think any more captured weapons are necessary.
