As far as I know, this happened in China after Italy went over to the Allies after the overthrow of the fascist regime. The status of Italian soldiers far abroad was in question. The Japanese, who had jurisdiction over the territories where the Italian soldiers were, were ordered to disarm and arrest them. This led to two armed clashes. In the second clash, the Italians even had light machine guns and light tanks at their disposal.
It would be great to have an event for these events with fixed squads sets. However, in the main game it would be just awful, considering we don’t have a separate Italian faction. The idea of Germans armed with Volkssturm weapons in China, fighting the Japanese is just disgusting. Plus, it might free up the developers’ hands to send Germany onto the Pacific maps to fight the Japanese.
