The Idea for Leveling up a Soldier’s Class

Would you like the Idea of Leveling up a Soldier’s Class (e.g., Sniper 1 :arrow_right: Sniper II) to be put into the Game, “Enlisted,” especially if you have a Soldier you love and don’t want to give up for a higher level soldier?

Maybe make the player have to press a button to do it, perhaps call it “promote”. Because personally I don’t have my assaulter 4 level cap unlocked on most nations so I wouldn’t want my assaulter 3s turning into assaulter 4s and becoming useless to me.

Also the base perks of each level of assaulter are different, for example I think the assaulter 3 base perk is 15% medpack speed but every other number assaulters base perk is different. But I think this could be a cool feature if a promoted soilder kept the base perk of each previous level. For example a soilder who started as a assaulter 2 would have each assaulter’s base perk by the time he became a assaulter 4, meaning it’d be worth the extra effort to train a soilder from assaulter 2 all the way to assaulter 4 instead of just buying a assaulter 4 soilder.

Or players will spam purchasing lv1 soldier to get max perk, then only leveling up selected soldier.
This will greatly reduce the grind of getting a top tier max perk soldier, and you really think DF will let this happen?

Just had the same idea today.

This feature should also be possible for Hero Soldiers. There’s no real endgame use to them anymore anyway as veteran players have maxed all their soldiers and there’s even less use for soldiers of lower levels than what you can simply buy in the silver store.

If you have a chance to uprank your soldiers, representing how they grew in experience, you can at least find use for those soldiers instead of just letting them settle dust.

The resource for this should be soldier level up orders and gold.

The price has to be in a reasonable (thus rather expensive) range so it doesn’t overshadow the costs to roll for perfect soldiers via spending silver.

Example:

Riflemen I → Riflemen II = 10 level up orders
Riflemen II → Riflemen III = 33 level up orders
Assaulter III → Assaulter IV = 52 level up orders

I tried to keep the increase in price relative to the price increase in silver for these soldiers

To be fair level up orders aren’t too common maybe a dozen or so from a elite BP) I think they should just be something like 3x the silver of what the higher rank one would cost.

Perhaps something like this could be implemented more easily and cleanly if we just sacrifice our current soldier for a significant discount. This way let’s take assaulter II for example, if we’re to upgrade that to assaulter III we would hand over 25% (possibly more or less) of the total cost for a fully leveled up Assaulter II, gaining an unleveled Assaulter III. This in function gives a slight silver sink, as well as a way to upgrade these soldiers beyond their limits. Granted this would be unavailable for the top tier soldiers, as you can’t gain an assaulter V for example.
