Handley Page Hampden was British two engine medium bomber, it’s piloted by a crew of 4, a maximum speed of 398km/h (247m/h), a climb rate of 5m/s (980f/m), and a full turn time of 27.9s. The armaments on the The Handley Page Hampden include 1 303. caliber machine gun fixed in the nose of the plane, 3-5 303. Vickers machine guns one flexibly mounted in the front of the plane and one or two each in the dorsal and ventral positions, and it can hold up to 4000lb of bombs the common bomb loads include 4 1000lb bombs, 2 2000lb bombs, 4 500lb bombs, and 6 250lb bombs. Depending on what bombs are given the BR could range from 3-5, if given the 6 250lb bombs it would put it on par with BR3 bombers of Germany and the USSR as both have bombers with 600kg worth of bombs in total, if given 4 500lb bombs this would put it on par with BR4 bombers already in the Western Allies tech tree, I do not believe the devs would give it 1000lb or 2000lb bombs but if given then it could be put into BR5 but there could be an argument made for putting it in BR4 due to it only having machine guns and not any cannons.

(This plane is already in WarThunder so the model and stats could be stolen off that)

  • If put into the tech tree it could be given to the No.144 Squadron RAF or as a seperate event squad, premium squad, or the missing tech tree Attack plane squad as there were a lot of squadrons in the RAF that used the Handley page Hampden.

  • It also could be given to could be given to us in the form of No.455 Squadron RAAF as an event squad, premium squad, or as the missing tech tree Attacker plane squad.

  • It could be given to us as a kiwi squad in the form of the No.489 Squadron RNZAF as an event squad, premium squad, or as the missing tech tree Attacker plane squad

  • If given as a Canadian squad it could be given to us in the No.420 RCAF (there were other Candian squadrons that used this plane) as an event squad, premium squad, or just the missing tech tree Attacker plane squad.

Honestly, its a slow lumbering plane with poor handling if youve ever used it in WT, however I would love to see it none the less.

I would personally place it into BR2 with 6 250lb (100kg equivalent) bombs, which has precedent already with the Su-2 at BR2 with 6 100kg bombs, not to mention its slower, less manoeuvrable and less armed than the Su-2.

Just apart from the silliness of adding another “strategic” bomber to Enlisted, the RNZAF never operated it.

Wikipedia notwithstanding, 489 Sqn was one of the “Article XV Squadrons” with a strong contingent of New Zealand crew - but it was a RAF squadron - not a RNZAF squadron.

And it operated operated Hampdens on anti-submarine patrols, and on anti-shipping patrols as a torpedo bomber ffs…

Yes now that I look into this further I see that this is 100% true and thank you a lot for correcting me so I don’t spread misinformation on this topic : )
