The unbalance problem hasn’t been fixed as Allies have an overwhelming advantage on most campaigns, so I’m still forced to play Normandy, the only campaign with OP nazis.
I stopped playing for a few months and I can see that many major problems haven’t been fixed so far. The first major problem is the idiotic “defense” system. You don’t even know what you’re supposed to do on the map when you spawn. There is a grey dot on the map that you’re supposed to defend somewhere but you first have to notice where it is, and it might be far from where you are. It most cases the enemy will be there before you can organize a defense. Fixing this problem should have been a priority as it’s probably not hard to rework the minimap or various warnings.
As soon as you spawn, you spawn in a shitload of explosions. You get burned through walls by noobs with flamethrowers and you will die in a smog of of phosphorus grenades that make more smoke than smoke grenades themselves. The game would have benefited from a slower pace but the pace of the game was increased instead.
The idiotic defense system hasn’t been fixed. In the current state of the game the defending team can’t properly defend a position. The reason is that the defending team has no more troops or firepower than the enemy and is concentrated on a single position that can just be wiped out with artillery.
I believe that we would benefit from a sharp reduction in the amount of available artillery units. Phosphorus grenades should be limited. Radio soldiers should be removed from normal squads or have another usage, like allowing to mark targets. Defenses should give proper defense against explosions.
unlock m2 carbine, use big granade bag and equip 3 phosphorus
9 soldier squad and you will see that what they have as a marshal is only an ornament to kill bots
I agree with all of these points. Defenses need to be buffed. Sandbags shouldn’t break from frag grenades or fragmentation from artillery. Only enemy ENGINEERS should be able to deconstruct fortifications. This would push people to use TNT and tanks to actually break through to the objective.
That said, I would suggest putting this into a suggestion format, so its more suitable for this page and can be discussed easier.
I agree with you. The current matching system sucks and the balancing is fucked. I mean like avt40 vs mbk or kv1 vs panzer4. As far as the game it can only be discribed as having a solid base and a promising potential. The devs need to work really hard on the game play itself instead of adding items to the game.
Only a balance problem in Berlin / Moscow, the other russian v german campaign we don’t talk about. Moscow’s the biggest campaign with GEAR balancing issues for an obvious reason, Berlin mostly being set on the whole T-34-85 existing alongside Pz IV J (for some reason instead of another Panther variant)
Other campaigns are decently balanced, and I’d say Normandy is one of those more balanced campaigns (with the exception of the Stuart existing for some reason)
well split playerbase across camapaigns+playerbase imbalance+console players/newbies playing weak side. there were few suggestions on how to fix it, or at least mitigate it.
Build rallies, flanking ones the best, or try to anticipate the enemies from entering the objective, don’t just sit in the objective, go and get creative and counterattack instead of camping in one particular spot and then blame a specific gadget that kills campers
The campaigns seem to actually be decently balanced player base wise currently.
Normandy of course is just Axis farming bots and new players.
Moscow is generally Soviets farming bots.
Pacific is pretty balanced playerbase wise, maybe favoring Axis a bit.
Tunisia definitely favors Axis now, but its not too bad for the Allies.
Stalingrad still favors Soviets, but I have noticed more people playing Axis recently.
I haven’t played much Berlin the past 2 months so I can’t really say.
Berlin is overall fine. Sometimes one side has a streak but overall I would recommend Berlin in terms of fun. Since only bunch of SU mains complain its another reason to call this campaign fine (Train maps outside of Berlin are still awful).
Berlin does have a noob problem where noobs like to play Soviet for some reason same with Stalingrad and Moscow. Had some real bad teams in Stalingrad recently with all the noobs that snipe, don’t build rally points, drive starter tanks and not playing the objective at all.
Mayby timezone has something to do with balance problem. Personally i use all my exp boosters only to allied side in all campaings exept tunisia that i dont play. And reason to this to lessen ‘suffering’ and one sided roflstomps handed by axis side.
Even ‘soviet pve farm campaings’ like moscow has all good players stacked on axis side
No it’s not… Have you ever played the game? You can literally watch the stream from a flamethrower, go through solid walls. There have been many times I’ve been ignited on fire/killed this way.
Quit lying boo boo… There have been many great ideas as for how to fix the broken matchmaking/split campaigns.
I have even posted my topics with suggestions that are all better than what we currently have.
The development team never acknowledges anybody suggestions, and the “testers” and “contributors” are often the ones who rip apart the community’s ideas, while often dishing personal insults that have nothing to do with the topics being discussed.
