I used to play Japan to get away from the depressive gray/muddy/cold maps that I keep getting when I play as Germany, but now it’s exactly the same. The “Far Eastern Front” took everything I hated about the eastern front, the things I hated about Burma, and combined them into one very poor experience.
Another gripe I have with these new maps as a Japan player is that playing tanker feels horrible. The Japanese tanks simply don’t have the proper engine/transmission to go up the hills so your movement/strategy is very limited and streamlined, while medium Soviet tanks on the opposing team get to go where they please.
The most infuriating part is that I am only allowed to dislike 3 out of the 4 new maps, as if one of them was surely good. Let me tell you something. It’s not.
