The ends justify the means- Progression rework

Hello, we all know that Enlisted has been in a steady decline since a long time and now all of us that have been here playing the game and experiencing its flaws knew that changes had to be made because the old Progression and battle system had always been flawed and that was one of the many reasons that more people wouldn’t play the game.

Now Enlisted current at its current state wouldn’t be able to maintain the status quo way into 2023, changes had to be made and the developers knew that but for much were either afraid of tinkering with the current yet flawed state of Enlisted as it could very well be catastrophic, either that or the enormous amount of challenging work that would need to be done and even in some way reworking everything from scratch

The community has for years given feedback and openly expressed the game needed reworking and well we got what we asked for, while yes changing almost the entire game structure is indeed concerning but y’all need to understand that current day Enlisted wouldn’t survive 2023 had it not change entirely.

Tldr : The devs are taking a massive risk with the rework, it may surely kill the game or make it thrive
I really hope that it’ll be successful because i really love Enlisted

And some sacrifices must be made so that the game survives and before abandoning the game because you didn’t like the changes at least give it a try whenever it launches

Not a reason to finish it off

Enlisted isn’t at “steady decline”. Few nolifers on this forum are just overdramatic. Theirs opinions will be ignored as always.

Majority of enlisted’s playerbase are just casuals that doesn’t even bother with things like this. This forum isn’t mirroring the whole playerbase.

Future of enlisted is bright, you don’t have to worry.

Enlisted average players are low bobs so why not make a game full of bots like that they will feel good and they ll love the game for that … more noob friendly

In the long run, Enlisted’s current campaign mechanics divide players too much and make it have no future
Change is good and it is understandable to have worry and fear of the unknown
I just hope that I don’t repeat the mistakes of War Thunder, and don’t use too many complicated technology trees to consume players’ time and money

Agreed and well said. This update has brought me back around after a looong hiatus

I think this rework gives a lot of people who quit a new reason to play. Until now good equipment is locked behind levels with stuff you dont care about often, and by making progression into a tech tree, people can choose, what they want to research.

I’ll still probably just get everything

yeah, i also grind out all campaigns, even when I hate playing allies… Completionist

Exactly. I on the other hand am really looking forward to the new additions, I’m sure the game will become much better and fun :grinning:

It will make or break the game.

If the dedicated playerbase leaves then it’s done because they pay money. More FTP players means jack shit if they aren’t buying anything.

Yes we need more FTP players but not at the expense of the dedicated playerbase

Why would the dedicated playerbase leave? Only a fraction of a game’s playerbase appears online, just because there is a vocal minority whining about historical accuracy (which is stupid in itself, this isn’t Hell Let Loose) doesn’t mean that is the whole community’s sentiment

I said IF, IF they do the game dies due to no income

I know, I was just asking why you thought they would leave (possibly)

I havent been saying much since ive been waiting for devblog 3, but it does make me glad that I leveled up each independent army across all the various campaigns. I havent really had that much overlap other than between moscow and stalingrad. I should be in a good spot :sunglasses:
