The players base problem is present on all factions but soviets and americans have more problems with that the reason why i think is like that is because the old tunisia and moskow veterans who we’re playing a PVE since those campaings were bot farms and they wanted to have that experience when merge happened so they asked more buffs for them and more nerfs for their enemies killing any sense to make this Game actually challenging and turn it into a boring PVE

The Main problem this Game have of course is it playerbase You can’t deny it, all factions have those players who make You go bald but out all these players the majority of these kind of people is concentered on Soviets and americans the reason why is like that? Welp i got a Theory from the old times when campaings we’re on the Game
Lets first see the soviets in moskow campaings where they were smashing so hard the germans that if i’m not wrong the developers Even “buffed” the capture time requiered for germans by reducing it by 10% and then we have Tunisia campaing where we can all agree that the gear that italians got there is absolutly sad as hell no wonder why most ppl came to allies there instead making these campaings basically a “bot farm” for both soviets and americans and if You ask me no i would have 100% preffered to Suffer instead of playing a PVE Gamemode (but i didnt like tunisia so i went to normandy)
Then the merge happened those players who we’re back sitting on those campaings actually faced a challenge the axis mains who welp majority of them suffered the horrors of hell like me… Maybe i am the
1st hater of P-47 rocket spam same goes to japanese mains but since they werent on different campaings like germans they would still be a considerable force that since they actually learned to play the Game they knew how to deal with their enemies
These players we’re overall more competent and actually knew how to propelly play this Game and now that all of them are figthing together they became a unstopeable force of rally point spam
And what happened to most soviet mains of Berlín and normandy? Well i gotta admmit that These 2 factions had actually good players in fact i Saw with own eyes of what they we’re capable of i remember once figthing against a american chinese stack while having My own stack on My team as You can probably Guess yes… That battle was crazy as hell múltiple rallies well placed tanks and CAS when the situation was suitable and Even coordination on the chat but getting back into the topic My Theory abt what happened to these good allies/soviet mains is that they switched faction or switched games since they obviously noticed that there’s was no challenge at all
I can tecnically confirm this dispite not being the Best player on the Game that whenever i play soviets the Game turn on Easy mode and i can just go brain dead and thats it
But what happened on the other side of the coin this players who had it Easy on bot farms as tunisia or moskow well thats simple to answer they started to ask more nonsense to cover their skill issue and for some reason developers heard them and have them what they wanted and yet those stuff P-47, body armor, RD-44, AVT-40-20, RMN-50, AM-2 stingers and its not enough for them since Even with all these stuff they still loosing so hard and then we have some unnecesary nerfs for germans (except for PZ III N ts was OP asf ) and it’s not enough and what to Say tbh i’m 100% sure that the majority of playerbase problems comes from these players who make the Game unfunny and don’t give germans and japanese and actual propper figth in terms of equipment and at the end of the day what they are killing is those players who actually wanted an equal figth and unless we start to give the propper equipment to make the things equal this will continue until inmminent game death because war thunder infantery mode
And welp just to clarify this is a Theory from My part it may sounds crazy but for me it seems to have sense why americans and soviets have worse playerbase problems and from what i experienced while playing soviets knowing how to use they interesting gear i don’t face to many challenges except for not having to many reasons to enjoy the Game since all i have is boring steamrolls no matter the side but the majority of times is My team who steamrolled enemy one making the matches last 5-10 minutes .-. which well is kinda boring tbh
That’s all well and good, but it all falls apart due to one single thing. Germany is one of the weakest sides, if not the weakest (not technically, but in terms of skill). This became obvious after the Far Eastern Front was added, because matches against Japan are way tougher than against Germany.
And it’s logical: following your own logic, the Germans in Berlin were fighting Soviet bots, since there were even fewer USSR players there than there were German players in Moscow.
Way before it was one of the Best nations into the Game when it comes to skill is just that player base rotation after update Made japanese the faction with most players actually is just that while updates were passing by more axis mains have up and switched or left the Game because belive or not at the beggining of the merge this was 100% different
And thats tecnically true and false aswell the majority of german player actually we’re on normandy campaing figthing the allies
And from what You also Say it also makes me belive my own theory even more since these moskow and tunisia players seems to be getting what they want another PVE bot farm with all the nerfs to their enemies and buffs to them to drag players to their lines while emptying the axis lines just wait and see that they Will eventually nerf japanese because they are too “”“strong”“”
I’ve been playing since the first days of the pre-open test (or whatever it was called), and I’ve witnessed all stages of the game. I played only in Lone Fighters, where skill matters much more. That’s why I know well how it was both ‘before’ and ‘before that’.
The problem is that, initially, the Soviet side was EXTREMELY weak. The vast majority of players were from the CIS, and they naturally flocked to the USSR. This meant an already struggling faction was constantly diluted by a massive influx of newbies.
Now there are catastrophically few beginners, and the sides have more or less settled. From this, it is clearly visible that the Germans are significantly lagging in skill. Yes, the Soviets don’t build spawn points. At all. But good marksmen, in my opinion, are found in Soviet teams noticeably more often than in German ones.
Welp i think that what caused the current state of the faction playerbase is what You have Said the whole story i told above and the recent update that naturally caused playerbase rotation but anyways i think that is a mix of these 3 things that Made this whole problem
I wish developers actually take action and make the Game at least a fair place with equal figth bt well thats what we have and idc to much anynore since war thunder beta has finally came out

I think that’s exactly the problem. The devs are trying to create symmetrical balance by giving the Japanese elven tanks and Panzerfausts, and giving the Soviets elven planes and assault rifles, instead of giving the factions truly interesting solutions. And it is precisely this lack of ideas that is killing the game, not the balance issues.
And You are wrong aswell they are just giving the minimal to japanese i can tell and developers seems to adress the balance department whenever they want i mean howong developers took to reléase súper pershing? How long developers took to give germans a belt fed MG? How long developers took to actually rebalance FG42 II? and how much time developers took to rebalance GL spam
Also stadistics don’t lie developers don’t also seems to adress balance if You ever look at the spreedsheets You Will notice how fucking unbalanced the weapons are and how much magical and nonsense gear allies and soviets have on this Game wheres that thing of creating symetrical balance
It doesnt matter if is on damage dispersión recoil or anything You can realize that soviets and americans had the adventage except for tanks department for soviets only

The Big majority of them alredy left the Game making it a boring PVE at this point really last time i found one “'competent axis Main” was before the recent update after that if anything screws me is the occasions lack of rallies from My team
For people like me, I don’t really have a main as I play all factions. Yes, I have played more Allies, however Germany is not far behind. I switch back and forth because I just get tired of playing one faction, so I am not sure how many people consider themselves to be one faction main.
In my four years, I have seen faction strength move back and forth, making one faction strong now and weak in a month or so. It usually changes around the time that a faction gets new kit. For a long time, I couldn’t buy a win with the Allies at any level, till the T-20 came out and all of the sudden, I couldn’t find a competitive match playing as Allies at BR5. For a long time, playing as Germans my side was curb stomping the Soviets at BR2 and BR5, now, as Soviets I am curb stomping Germans at BR2 and still winning as BR5 Germans vs the Soviets.
So, are the German mains leaving the game? Maybe, but I would say it is just people in general leaving so all factions should be losing people. I don’t think any faction is dying off, it seems to be just business as usual with Enlisted.
Game balance is not achieved by weapon power.
All faction have decent weapons and less decent weapons. Some are better at short range, others at medium range. Some have low recoil and others have shity sights.
Player picking. For matchmaking.
I have thousands of matches under my belt and at some point I realized that more than 90% of my first matches of a day are impossible to win.
It’s like the game expects me to carry my team to victory .
So I gave up trying because every first game of my daily enlisted session I get a team of players that seam to be making dinner while playing the game. Or maybe it’s players with Parkinson… I don’t know. But my first match is almost always an impossible mission. So strongly suspect that there is an invisible criteria to matchmaking.
The game has a way of rating players that has nothing to do with the BR system . I just haven’t figured it out yet.

But the problem and what im pointing out is why soviets and allies weapons are overall better than their axis equivalents when it must be equal if we want to have a good Game direction and a good way to mantain playerbase i wouldnt care if these we’re just stuff imposible to notice but thats not the case the stadistics on the sheets indicates a considerable adventage on weapons and i’m not Even mentioning other factor that screw stuff like the body armor
So overall You are suggesting a SBMM which rigth now with the current state of the Game with not to many players and with playerbase rotation it would make matchmaking take years
I believe that the vast majority of players of this game have a tendency to give up easily and a strong inclination towards surrender.
When the wind is favorable, just waste your troops. When the wind is against you, simply give up and stop fighting, surrendering.
There is absolutely no desire for victory.
The game developers also failed to provide a sufficient amount of rewards for the winners. It feels like winning is not that important. What matters more is getting more points.

Of course, I still recommend playing this game in teams.

This is the first time since merge that Soviets are doing better than Germans so its clearly just the playerbase shifting to play the new campaign.
In fact if you look closely you will see that in the matches Soviets win now, they have a clan of 3-4 or people that carry the whole team, while the rest is the same idiots as before that never build rally.
In the past month I have played all factions except US, most of my matches are split between Soviets and Japan (like most other veterans), I only played Axis because a friend of mine asked me.
I don’t see any theories here; all I see are some people complaining about body armor and things like that. If this so-called theory actually holds true, then the German faction in Berlin (perhaps the current BR5) would be the most foolish group, because they keep winning. Just before the merge, the Italian faction in Tunisia had an almost 100% win rate, yet today I have no idea where all these idiots have gone. You could simply demand the removal or nerfing of body armor, or whatever other annoying things there are.
As someone who started playing the game before merge and was axis main, I suffered A LOT against Stacked Soviet and Usa factions. Things quickly got very bad for the axis especially after the merge, and problem didn’t fix itself until around march, later when I completed Axis I started grinding other factions and later “join any” added and ever since I am “join any” player nonstop and now no matter what each faction has “braindead bot” role players. and its not about players shifting anymore because I see even balanced games (which I judge by nickname decorators and weapons in kills feed) has insane amounth bot roleplayers. They never built raly points, they walks around map and does literally nothing, they afraid to play obj for some reason. Of course it’s possible to win these matches if you pull APC and raly nonstop and some of them willings to use ur rallies to play obj, but to be able to win you need to burn yourself to point where u have no energy left for another match and by the end of the match you only get around 2k silver (little more or little less) and its literally stupid reward for such a waste of time. I know I talked a lot but at the end of the day I believe each faction has same amounth of chance for win but question is which side is “more” willing to burn itself for a “joke” rewards?
I agree to some extent that winning matches is not as popular as a goal as it should be.
But players do realize, better than the Devs, that trying to win on their own is far worse than any desertion penalty.
Now that we have new war scenario that involves soviets and Japs, it’s only natural that more players are jumping into these factions to enjoy the new maps.
This is very predictable and working as intended.
Before the new maps however, axis was probably the strongest faction, and again, not because of weapon imbalance which I think it’s in a decent state, but because the most competitive/competent players were there.
I kid you not… while playing allies I often hear children playing the game with open mic.
I just think " my team has 9 year old kids on it… no wonder allies don’t build rallies".
