What players truly need are high-skill-ceiling squads that can make clutch plays and turn the tide in evenly matched or slightly disadvantaged games. Yes, logically, if a squad can carry a disadvantaged match, it will also dominate when you’re already winning. But that is not the issue. The real problem is “win-more” toys that only feel strong when you’re already snowballing, yet offer zero counterplay when your team is struggling.
The current state of the jeep squads is a textbook example of this design failure. It feels like the devs were terrified of jeeps becoming “win-more” pub-stomping machines, so they overcorrected with absurd restrictions: a massive vision-blocking plate, a ban on passenger firing, and a forced 3-man limit.
As a result, jeeps now offer zero dominance in a winning game, and zero comeback potential in an uphill battle. They are useless metal coffins. We don’t want a brainless stat-check, nor do we want a gimped vehicle that can’t do anything. We want jeeps to be a high-risk, high-reward mobility tool that rewards good positioning and decision-making. Give them back their identity.
Here are a few suggestions for changes:
- Remove the obstructive sight plate on the Soviet jeep.
- Increase the squad size to 5, the same as the Italian event jeep squad.
- Allow all occupants to fire from their seats.
- Replace the Japanese jeep’s machine gun with the Te-4.
- Jeep squads need improvement.
- The current design is good enough.
