Currently, using vehicle-mounted HMGs feels miserable. They have low damage, a low rate of fire, and their suppression capability is even worse than small-caliber machine guns. Furthermore, the 1-in-4 low-penetration AP rounds completely strip away their lethality against lightly armored vehicles. Right now, the anti-armor and anti-infantry efficiency of these HMGs is abysmal.
Tanks at least have their main gun and coaxial weapons to compensate for damage output, but the Willys/M2HB and the M3A1 halftrack only have this one primary weapon. I want an HMG to be the center of attention when it opens fire, not just a disposable background prop.
As Iβve said before, every squad should have its unique characteristics instead of trending toward homogenization and inefficiency. Using an HMG is a high-risk play, and it should bring high rewards. Therefore, please change the damage and ammo belts of vehicle-mounted HMGs to match those of the heavy machine gun emplacement.
- Vehicle-mounted HMGs should be modified.
- They are fine as they are now.
