I know this argument has been made countless times.
However, as a player of the maxout (or almost maxout) 8/12 campaign, got some new experience when play the game again with an almost blank account.
First of all, as a novice, you will still encounter the problem of extreme imbalance in the number of players.
In addition to their ignorance of the one-sided situation in some battles, the imbalance in the number of people is sometimes periodic, making it difficult to play a specific camp for a short period of time, or an Asia grenade spam team (I am also Asian, so this not racist) show up in the campaign you’re grinding and you can’t avoid keep encountering them.
As veterans, we have enough equipment and experience to fight back, but this will be devastating to the novice game experience.
Same issue happen on the equipments. How long have you not used G33/40 against ppsh or Springfield against Beretta M38? Generally, You won’t see the side with more player has worse equipment, but better equipment & more player is on the same side.
When you thing killing bots and noobs are “joy of enlisted”,newbies who have not yet entered the situation will only think that this game is full of masochism and psychosis. And uninstall the game after playing a few times. The threshold for this game is not high, but a balanced game experience can better determine whether new players will stay or not.
It’s because with already stacked sides it’s like playing with free xp booster all the time from winning. I played allies when they were just crushing japan pacific was early and I got to campaign level like 21 so easy I got bored just fighting bots waiting at the edge of the greyzone competing with my team for kills more than anything. I switched sides to Japan and it was so much harder to get the same point. I think the winning bonus definetly snowballs the player imbalance because average player can reach even just better mid tier equipment much faster.
The problem is the developers, they have no idea what to do with their game, they keep releasing patches that they don’t notify, nerfing or buffing this and that… They have a test server but they do it on the official server. Added to this is that they do absolutely nothing of what people ask for. Anyway, let’s play while this game still “lives”
I would be a minority (because I enjoy using lower equipment than I have unlocked), but Me and my mate have recently started grinding Tunisia Axis from scratch and we are (mostly) thoroughly enjoying the uphill struggle (Im also the retard who grinded Pacific Allies in their lowpoint). I wont deny that the first few levels your equipment barely gets it done, But with the first smg and first mg (mp28 and Breda) we are back to tearing it up against full player teams with event squads/weapons and max campaign.
Merge will only close this equipment gap, so it should help the newbies significantly at least in the gear department. “Should” being the operative word
