My custume changed when I switched “campaigns” and it’s lost forever

Same, additionally I lost around 50 appearance orders as some customizations I bought got deleted, and the ones not bought shuffle randomly while changing “campaigns” requiring the purchase for them to keep uniform appearance.

Same for me, had purchased 50+ appearance items but lost most of them. Most of the items I collected over the past year were lost.
What’s worse, perhaps the developer doesn’t even keep track of what’s gone. They ask, “from which squad did the items disappear?” and ask us.
You would know if a premier squad was missing, but I don’t think anyone remembers all the cosmetic items a soldier has purchased so far. Unless you are someone who keeps a notebook of all purchases in the game, etc.
If the developers don’t know what has gone missing, then I feel it is hopeless that my stolen appearance items will ever come back.
This update really sucks and I am thinking of quitting the game.
