The campaign removal and historical accuracy issue, and potential solutions and compromises

Personally, I agree that having too many specific campaigns would divide the already small community too much, resulting in the lack of growth for the game and long queue times. I also really like the idea of the tech tree and rating based matchmaking. However, to solve the historical accuracy problem, I think we should divide the matchmaking into much more generic categories (ie. late war western front, early war eastern front, late war eastern front, pacific, etc.) This could group more or less similar campaigns like stalingrad and moscow into one, while still maintaining general historical accuracy. I don’t mind if we do this sometime in the near future when the game grows enough, but it definitely is something I would like to see.

another topic about this… well one helper mentioned that MM should be mostly historically accurate, so if you choose late war weaponry you would be matched to normandy or berlin (but not guaranteed). only if there are not enough players in current MM queue you may be matched to non historical battle.

overall problem stems from small playerbase. if there are enough players it is possible to implement solutions for historically accurate battles.

yes, unhistorically matches will be probably very rare since there’s gonna be a LOT players queueing in.
